Hi everyone,

I am new to this forum and have only been following MotoGP with true interest for a year or so. My Husband has been a fan for years but I got hooked last year when we spent the weekend at Donnington watching BSB.
It's a big birthday for my Husband next year and we want to celebrate by attending one of the meeting in Europe. But which one for a first timer? We have a Motorhome so are looking to do a road trip over to Europe for a couple of weeks, centred around a weekend at MotoGP.
I have been told that the tickets for some of the events are extremely expensive and also when you are at the venue, purchasing drinks, food etc. are equally expensive so I would prefer to avoid that.
Ideally like Donnington, we would like a track that has facilities for Motorhomes e.g showers, electric hook up etc. and also has evening entertainment but more importantly it's the track excitement and good viewing points that really matter

Any and all suggestions and advice greatly appreciated.

I've never been to Le Mans, but have heard that the atmosphere there is second to none.

I really enjoyed going to Mugello, beautiful countryside and track. Assen had good vibes and I also quite enjoyed going to the Red Bull Ring.

Not sure about the facilities for motorhomes though.

As for the price, it's subjective I guess. Alot cheaper than F1 and PL games, and if you go to the right venue, you'll be watching eight races (five categories).

What does it cost to go to a MotoGP race in Europe these days? I got to COTA every year for MotoGP, and in my opinion it is one of the cheaper events I regularly atten every year.

These are the cheapest tickets for Silverstone this year. Covered grandstands etc. will make things more expensive.

I'm not recommending Silverstone to the OP, as I'm guessing they will want to go somewhere more exotic.

Thats not to bad, at COTA I have done everything from GA 3-day ticket that I think was like $60 to full hospitality paddock package $1000, and some years I will do a paddock pass. This year I did a 3-day turn 15 ticket, bought last min from a reseller on TM and it was like $80 after fees. I will say that the hospitality package was well worth it when you factor in things like food, drinks and parking.

At Sachsenring a Sunday grandstand ticket starts at like €160.

I went to Portimao a couple of years ago, wasn't impressed as you had to stay in your section, and couldn't take food in or walk around.
Have been to Thailand and Silverstone since, both were far better with no restrictions.
Am going to Misano this weekend, and Valencia in November, so will see what they're like.

Well my wife and I have been to MotoGP races in Europe so I will comment on places we went. I have been to Mugello, Assen, Le Mans and Valencia, Spain. We didn't go with a motorhome so I can't comment on that. Some tracks are close to a town that has alternate eating and drinking establishments like Mugello. You can literally walk there from the track. Others are pretty far away from a community. However, I remember being able to bring backpacks into the events, though it's been a few years since we last went in 2018.

Atmosphere is fantastic almost everywhere. But for sure there is enhanced atmosphere at Mugello and Assen. Weather is a factor that needs to be taken into account. Also, get the kind of seats you want. Some tracks will give you an advantage with great viewing spots anywhere even if you don't have a grandstand seat. I wouldn't go to Le Mans or Valencia without a good grandstand seat though.

I have to put Mugello at the top of the list for atmosphere, color and the fantastic food and atmosphere in the little town. Doesn't hurt that Mugello imo is one of the best tracks in the world for motorcycle racing.

Have fun!

I'm regular at PI ( I know it's not Europe, but just to compare to other circuits).
Easy to walk around and plenty of good spots even with just the general admission ticket. It's one of those old school tracks, so some spots are super close to track and no high fences.
Atmosphere is not the best (Europe way better), but the place is awesome.

For WSBK they even let you to take ur bike in, so no need to walk around, u just ride ur bike.

Mugello is very close to Firenze, and not too far from Bologna and Borgo Panigale & Imola if you want to put that on the list when travelling.

Backpacks still allowed in the events.

Why has nobody mentioned Brno next year?!?!?!

Damn I really, really need to get my passport. I had a buddy who visited the Czech Republic though he did not go the race at Brno. Anyway, very interesting country and would love to visit and see a race there. Love that track.
