Jamie Hacking scores TWO SECOND PLACE FINISHES in the AMA SBK races!!

Now, we know that is partly due to Mat Mladin crashing out of Race 1, then only able to generate a 4th place finish in Race 2.

Regardless, that is a strong showing by the American Monster Kawasaki Team, and a great effort on Jamie's behalf. (I'm just excited that he didn't crash!!)

Okay.....now, let's look at the results of Laconi and Tamada. Jeez... okay, Vittorio Ianuzzo did get a 5th, but Laconi crashed out and Makoto Tamada ends in 19?!?! and a 9th and 13th in Race 2!!

Did they not get any pointers from the American Team?? Why was Tamada complaining about 'chattering' and no grip ??

Granted, AMA and WSBK were using tyres (which can make a difference), and running on different courses, but not THAT different!

On the same note-- how can Corser and Haga run so strongly, but E.Bostrom and Jason diSaliva are barely breaking into the Top 10 ??

Don't AMA run a much lower tuning spec than WSB et al? That MIGHT be a reason as to the gap in performance.

I'm not really sure about that, I would have to check the rulebooks (I'm at work now, don't have THAT much free time to blow!!) but I think the tuning rules, for now, are pretty damn similar in regards to engine tuning/hp output...

I think I heard the WSB can run more aggressive cams, but aren't sure why.

You see the speed on hacking's bike down the straight? That thing was fast for sure.

Maybe as a kawi fan, this year won't totally suck
