Maybe Stoner is best suited for MotoGP 800 than for 125 and 250. Spencer, Rayney, Doohan, Schwantz have never rode on 125 and 250.

Spencer won the 250cc world championship in 1985 as well as the 500cc.

Jumkie...this is the most profound statement that I’ve read for a very long time...now let’s analyse what you’re really saying here:

Rossi is a better rider because he is a better rider... ..., yes Jumkie and none of us Casey fan doubt and/or have said otherwise! If any did well there either trying to be sarcastic or are plain stupid or both!..i really like the way Rossi rides, his style on and off the circuit, ever since I first saw him in gp’s, he is funny and brought this hero, legend worship back to gp racing ! Rossi Is a Legend!!! But that hasn’t fazed Casey at all in 2007! Whenever he was head to head with him!

Casey on the other hand has just taken the bull by the horns with his first opportunity on the 800 and with Ducati and has put all his talents and experience into the 2007 season! That is why he’s successful and is growing in confidence race by race! And I quote Casey’s comments...

“Everybody said you needed to be experienced to run at the front in this championship. "You needed to be experienced to ride a Ducati, all these things. I’ve been racing for a lot of years, maybe not in this class, but still for a lot of years, so I think experience really means nothing. If you have the determination, a good team behind you and you know you use what experience you have to the best, then there’s nothing you can’t do, “said Stoner, who said he was hoping to emulate some of Rossi’s previous title successes by wrapping up the championship with races to spare.
He added: “Valentino always wins the championship before the end. So he is more relaxed, he enjoys the riding a little bit more. I’ve watched Valentino win many championships and I admire him for every one of those. And it’d be great if we could do it early this year.”

So comparing Rossi and Stoner is just plain stupid and an irrelevant argument!...now if we were to compare Stoner and Pedrobot well we might have a few differences...

Casey is riding superbly this season, arguably better than Valentino, but Casey has a looong way to go to match Rossi's career greatness. Who knows, maybe he'll do it one day.

if he were on the yam with michilins i dont think he would be in the top 10.

With the way hes riding this year, I think he'd still be winning races, and definetely giving Rossi a run for his money. But all these ifs are a little pointless.

yes but these ifs are important when theyre major and not being considered when people make such strong comments such as "stoner IS better than rossi"

Casey IS the man this year,and its THIS year that counts.Maybe next year we may be talking about another rider but I really couldn`t say who.

To me catalunya proved that Stoner is as good as Rossi

and me. that was the battle that everyone wanted to see. forget about the straight, Stoner lead the whole last lap, actually pulled away from Rossi. he's been faultless all season whilst rossi has made his fair share of forced and even unforced errors. the ifs and buts don't mean anything. drill's right, it's this year that counts, next year may be a whole different story, but for now, at least the last time i checked it was 2007.

No Barry..because the Aboriginals have lots to TEACH US!! and inept is so relevant to what we should be doing in today’s world mate!!!...and Barry...I'm referring to their culture going back to 45k's ago!!! And so relevant today!!!...In a modern WAY!!!

what I mean Barry is that we are inept to our inviroment, culture and or both in modern Australia or should I say Australian history at all!!

And we were never ever like our HERO Australians the Aboriginals!!! And btw I'm not an aboriginal!!!

I'll put my hand up and say I was one of those people who believed that Stoner would be found out as the season went on and that Rossi would beat him. I knew Stoner was fast and his falling off in 2006 didn't exactly make me think that this year he would be running away with the title. But Casey has shown he is a great rider and he has handled the pressure extraordinarily well.

As to whether Casey is better than Vale, it's too early to tell. Vale is argubly the greatest rider of all time. In ten years time, when Casey is just retired or nearing retirement, we can then decide who is the best - was Casey a one championship wonder or a multiple champ like Vale? I would guess that he may win 2 or 3 but the competition is getting so hot that it may be difficult for one rider to dominate like Vale has for a number of years.
