I was just wondering what if Valentino Rossi did go to F1 (which he isn't), who would be winning the majority of races and being on the rostrum the most in Moto GP?

I personally think that it will be Nicky Hayden but other riders such as Marco Melandri, Loris Capirossi, Dani Pedrosa, Casey Stoner, Sete Gibernau and James Ellison could also win.

What do you think?

U're right. If valentino rossi resign from motogp, other pilots can win the grand prixes. Becouse they will not have a rival who has got experience on motogp. But i think dani pedrosa will a big pilot.

Maybe new Dani PEDROSA be new ROSSI

I very much doubt that. He's good but he ain't a Rossi.

haha james ellison!?!?!

I don't see him ever winning a race, not in this season nor in the future seasons
<

it's all specutations, and we will never know what it would be like, so let's just focus on present season. it's exciting enough!

Ellison we all can wish mate!

Dani I think would be the natural successor to VR, who says he aint??

Cmon 3 world championships already, plus his 1st GP win in only his 4th race!!!!

He may be small but as mentioned he has the coolness of Lawson.

But agree that the championship would open right up with regular battles with NH, MM, CS, LC and JH if Rossi had of gone.

Pedrosa would be up there if rossi leaves or stay's,and if i am not mistaken Pedrosa was younger than rossi,on his first motogp win at 20 ?

Pedrosa looks like he's going to be very good but I don't know if he will be the next Rossi.

Nicky Hayden, Marco Melandri, Dani Pedrosa, Loris Capirossi, Casey Stoner, John Hopkins and Sete Gibernau would have a legendary battle for the world championship. And there will never be another Rossi, just a successor and someone who could potentially put together a similarly successful career. What Rossi has done for the sport cannot be measured by wins, it's all his charisma and the exposure he has brought that will never be equaled.

Ugh i'm not too sure about John Hopkins.

me neither....

he needs to switch bikes/tyres before he could realy win a race. he does have the skills (like probably all the riders)

Dani, Marco, Loris and Hayden.

Though I'm hoping the lil' one will take Rossi's place as undisputed #1

Hopkins would be at the front if he wasn't riding the Suzuki. I think he's holding out hope that Suzi will come good with the 800cc. The GSV-R XRE04 is certainly a big step forward from the GSV-Rs of the past but it will take another equally large step if not larger to put them on the level with Honda, Yamaha and Ducati. If the 800 isn't there I would think, well at least hope, that Hopper would finally leave and go elsewhere where his talents can be showcased like they could have been at Ducati for the past two seasons.

I really do feel sorry for James Elli whoops I mean Sete Gibernau. Last year he was always the closest man to Rossi and now look at him.

That was 2 years ago, this year he is the closest rider to Rossi.

Current standings:

8th Rossi 40pts
9thSete 33pts

And Rossi was only a 2 time world champ. Plus he didn`t win 250s in his rookie year.

My man Bayliss rakes in more than that in a single weekend

i must dissagree Ooost. i think he's a bit overated. even jr managed to get the suzi lump on the box on a few ocassions. hopper's 5th season & he has 0 podiums. 0 come on already

I'd rather do a Bayliss and be best of World Superbike than be in Moto GP and not do too well.

Bayliss never should have left superbikes. He`s the classic example of how superbikers get humiliated in the motoGP. You guys probably won`t belive me because I`m a Bayliss fan, but I honestly belive he`s one of the best riders in the world (And so does Colin Edwards, just to back me up) And I know that he didn`t dominate motoGP. Well that`s because he`s a Superbiker, and he didn`t even try to adapt to the GP bike, like Hayden and Edwards have done. They`re just too different. I know you`re probably all thinking "If he`s so great, how come he didn`t do anything worth mentioning on the RCV?" Well, I say put Rossi on a YZ450 and see if he can beat RC and Bubba Stewart. Yeah right. He`s still the best in the world, but it`s horses for courses, isn`t it? RC on a dirtbike, Rossi on a MotoGP bike, Pedrosa on a 250 and Bayliss on a Superbike.

I`m not sure about Hopkins. Everyone seems to have a lot of faith in him and he did get offered a Ducati ride, and he seems to be able to keep up on the Suzuki, if only for a short time, but Frosty`s right. KRJR did more on the Suzuki than he did. Another rider I`d like to see on a competitive bike for a year, merely to see what they`re capable of.
