Such a mess.  Now everyone wonders 'how good is this guy really' (not just Marky Mark, but anyone in the future who's MotoGP debut people await), let's stick 'em on the Ducati to find out.  People really shouldn't be using Ducati as a litmus test, they just can't build a rider friendly bike.  Only the desperate who desire a factory ride and are shut out at HRC/Yam are going there.

It is very difficult to ascertain unknowns especially using the minuscule sample size we have to look at.

We know he was either cheating or very proficient on the moto2 and 125's. We know after half a dozen races on the worlds best motorcycle he is winning but not dominating. Its fair to say he has never had to race a bike that has had considerable deficiencies or set up problems.

Compare that with Stoner who practically won on a bike that had tire issues, another bike that had significant deficiencies and finally on what can be compared to what Mark is riding today. The Best. Considering the trajectory of his career and Dorna hastily filling him into the soon to be vacated position of golden ticket, it is unlikely we will ever see him have to struggle an a crappy bike so we will never know the answer
