<span style="color:#FF0000I had to write all this down sadly as copying was disabled from the site!

As expected, Red Bull Racing have confirmed that Mark Webber will join David Coulthard for the 2007 season.

It will be a homecoming of sorts for the 20 year old Australian who drove for the team in it's previous guide as Jaguar.

"It's fantastic to be joining Red Bull Racing," said Webber. "It's clear that the team is very hungry for long-term success, it has a very talented group of personnel and there seems to be a real sense of team spirit and unity. I believe i'm joining the team at exactly the right time for success in the future."

I beleive it is a good move for the long term, the team have Ferrari customer engines and a Cheif designer in Design God Adrian Newey so can't be all bad.

However for instant success Renault would have been a better option IMO.

I thought I had read somewhere that Red Bull were in talks of getting Renault power for 2007 and beyond. Did I just imagine that?

Yep, there's a rumour Red Bull want to use Renault engines and shift their Ferrari engine deal to the Toro Rosso team (aka Red Bull junior team).

But no-one has confirmed it, the engine situation is pretty confusing at the moment with the announcemt of the engine freeze for 2007.

Red bull is a well funded team and they want to move forward, a Ferrari engined team has never beaten the Ferrari team or won a championship.
Renault engined teams like Williams have won many titles.

Red Bull knows that with Ferrari they have a reliable engine, but it seems the rumours about Ferrari sabotaging their customer engines if they feel they could be beaten are more than rumours.

Wow, Red Bull would have a great set of 4 fast cars if this happens, they've got to find the drivers next though!

On the another hand it could just be another renault wind-up on the others.

Red Bull's drivers are already decided (Coulthard and Webber at RBR and most probably Liuzzi and Speed at STR)

ive heard that webber signs with red ull for next year and that briatore has promised him a long term deal with renault for 2008 when fisichella's contract is up.

any idea how long mark has signed with red bull?..
