Dani isn't getting enough credit here. He just lapped everyone up to 7th/8th position starting from pit lane. That's some pretty nice stuff from Dani right here, no?

So what's with Marquez - he obviously has more HP than the other bikes?

Will he be the next Lance Armstrong?

Bet he gets roughed up right off the bat in Moto GP.

The big boys won't put up with his antics on the track.

Just sayin

It was a very interesting race the way it all panned out. Pedrosa winning from pit lane is a feat in itself. Lorenzo was unlucky but I'm not sure if he could have held Pedrosa back. Pedrosa was catching quickly at one stage but I wasn't sure if Lorenzo managed to up his pace before he crashed. Unfortunate incident with Ellison.

no,it wasn't.

unnecessary pit board instruction anyway, only way bautista could have stopped stoner in the following corners would have been by doing a jerez 2011 rossi

Sorry dude, I watched it, Alvaro's team where moddle coddling him. It's ok, Alvin. It's casey's last turn. Let him have one more go on the steps.

And I know I called him Alvin, I like it better.

CRT finally ...... over a GP bike. Lorenzo's lucky to be alright.

You must have seen a different incident to the one I saw - where Lorenzo came in way too hot on a slower rider and got way out of shape.

Here, you can watch it over and over again until you realise it wasn't anything to do with Ellison.

The point being made by me is the speed differential between the tiers is a primary favor in this incident. Not the only factor, also would be track condition, Lorenzo's track position, flags or lack thereof, ellisons positioning yada yada yada. But I believe a huge factor is the speed differential.

Yep, Lorenzo came up on a slower rider waaaay too fast.

It happens on the road as well, if you aren't paying attention

Yeah, but if there weren't these stupid CRT bikes being lapped after less than half race distance this would never have happened... It's a real safety issue, the blue flags should've been waved, not sure if they were or not, but from the looks of all the lapping going on, they weren't waved because Karel Abraham wouldn't get out of Pedrosas way and Pedrosa was following him around for a while because he didn't want to get off the racing line and risk crashing like lorenzo did.

You would think that given the difficulty Lorenzo had just a couple of corners previous in passing, that he might have exercised a bit more caution. Speed differential & track conditions are the overall cause IMO however.

looks like the test will be a wash out weather forecast is dire spalders even tweeted yam might go to aragon to test weathers that bad

good i say let it piss on dorna msma vale ncia...

I don't think anyone including jorge is suggesting ellison did anything wrong particularly if there were no blue flags as appeared to be the case. The problem is the speed differential leading to the necessity for lapping a CRT bike as others have subsequently said, to which these guys are not accustomed, although it happened frequently in the glory days of the 500 formula. These were unusual conditions though, and dani lapped several "prototype" bikes including dovi who, bizarrely imo, seemed to contest the pass. Jorge has said he lost the bike because he got off the dry line, and ellison presumably would have run the same risk if he had got off the dry line himself to let jorge past. In jorge's defence he was trying to win the race having not won the previous 7, and probably thought dani was close behind.

Have to say dani on an hrc honda looks hard to beat next year .

Good race, a bit of excitement for a change.

Go Espagaro! HEshould be on a factory Yam next year for that 'balls of steel' opening laps.

Stoners attitude disgusted me, admitting on the grid he didn't even wanna be there. I'll miss the skillz but wont miss the man

Rossi, well at least Stoner admitted he would try but Rossi was pathetic and he got what, about $750,000 for that race?

Shame for Lorenzo, glad he's ok but feel that he's going to go into 2013 knowing he hasn't beaten Pedrosa since the summer.

Unlucky Cal, the punishment outweighed the crime imo.

All good calls there.

So you don't think Hayden's result showed the true potential of factory Ducati?

What, because he crashed?

At least he was trying, my grandad could have ridden that thing faster than Rossi yesterday

Yeah I can see your rationality there...I'm sure I can, somewhere, maybe not.

Yeah, but if there weren't these stupid other bikes on the track, he could have taken it easy and still won! Pity that it's a bike race...

I'm sure that somewhere I read that when passing, the onus of safety is on the passer. Jorge ......-up. If he exercised a little better judgement than passing in the wet, on a corner, while riding on slicks, he would have stayed in the race. With his big speed differential he could have passed Ellison at the shortest of straights, but he came in hot, hit the picks hard, got squirrely and the tank-slapper did for him.

Clear case of caveat ascensorem - let the rider beware.
