Gaz

He (Bautista) should have spend more time in 250 / Moto 2 and should go back there for a year.

He spent three seasons in 250s, not sure what a fourth will teach him that he doesn't already know.

Austy, I think Bautista intended to follow Dovi into the turn. I believe he "darts" across to follow Dovi but unfortunately did it a hair too soon. Again, Dovi had no fault. I think if Alvaro tips it in a nat's hair later they all get through that turn cleanly. But that's racing right? That is to say, milli-second actions make all the difference. That's what these guys do successfully most of the time. On occasion, they miss time it. You make a mistake, you are blameworthy, right. When that mistake takes out several other riders which all turn-ones have that potential, then the blameworthiness is greater and criticism is deserved. I'm not sure why we are so shy to say he is to blame. Blame doesn't mean we are going to chastise the guy with lashes. A simple, he ...... up and screwed up other riders will suffice. But to relegate rider mistakes to simply "racing incidents" doesn't sit well with me personally. But that's just me. There are crashes where blame is much more clear and some will still chalk it up to 'that's racing'. We had a big drama this year between riders regarding blaming. So I know its not just my lack of "racing experience" that bars me from formulating an opinion. Hell, we had world champs blaming eachother.

True. You only have to look at the late Marco Simoncelli and how others regarded his racing on the track. Look how many ruffles he had...different people, different ways of riding, different opinions. It's what makes racing so good

Couldn't help myself

Sorry

Ok if you're going to be that nit-picky what I mean is that it's Bautista's fault if anyones...but me personally, would disregard it as just a racing incident where no-one is to blame.

You and I are on the same page. Except that I think Bautista was going to try and get it stopped on the apex, backup the field for the sake of track position. I don't think he was planning on following the same line as Dovi, otherwise he would've followed the same trajectory laterally that Rossi and Dovi were on. But we're getting into semantics.

No worries man, i am only teasing. I know what you are getting at and i think we are on the same page, or at least reading from the same chapter

I recommend people watch the full post race press conference. The final questions to Stoner Spies and Dovi cover the end of prototypes and also the extra test days.

End of prototype - none like it and Stoner basically says he is not interested in continuing if and when they go to "Touring Cars" as he puts it.

Extra Testing - all 3 of them say it is not necessary and they don't want it. Dovi says 2 more days a year would be good but not the unlimited (tyres permitting). This is a surprise to me as it was argued here that ALL the riders want more testing. If ALL the riders want more testing why then from a sample of 3 (1/6th of the field) none of them wanted it?

I agree with this.

Austin & Tom, you see how people use "racing incident"? That's the problem I have with this term.

Interesting indeed. I haven't seen it, will check it out.

Do you disagree with Charlie Cox and Steve Parrish too then Jumkie? They both put it down to a racing incident.

I don't get to hear them that much honestly, however, I have two friends who's opinion means a lot to me. I had one swearing today at me because he was subjected to these two commentators. The other one refuses to watch the race unless its with the other two three commentators on Eurosport I believe. May I quote him? Charlie Cox and Steve Parish are "utter ....".

Having said that, I don't know if they equate "racing incident" to nobody is to blame, as you have. Even though technically you contradicted yourself and blamed Bautista.

Lol. Got to admit they make it enjoyable to watch for me. Right i'm off to bed, work early in the morning! Night all

Ok, its been fun, I have to do something that doesn't involve wasting my life on this forum. I know I know, priorities. TTYL

Yeah, I see that. When I use the term, I don't absolve any of blame. Just that it's not malicious, nor uncommon. I'm glad we have a medium in which we can split hairs like this.
