I don't know about wildcarding a separate bike (5th Yamaha on the grid).....I thought there was talk he might ride Spies's bike if Spies could not race this weekend.

If Stoner wins the race, Rossi should finish on the podium(a third place)
if Stoner becomes 2nd, Rossi should finish 7th,
if Stoner finishes on the 3th place then Rossi should finish 11th,
if Stoner finishes 4th, Rossi should finish 14th,
and any other result by Casey will automatically inssure Rossi of his 3th place in the championship.
So Stoner should finish 4th or higher to make any chances for the 3th place.
The fight for the 5th place of the championship is as much exciting as the fight for the 3th.
and it's between Dovi and Stoner and Rossi.
If Dovi wins the race, then Casey should finish on the podium. (actually at this situation Rossi should finish 13th at least, otherwise He will be overtaken by Dovi on the standings).

Stoner, he clearly wants to leave his mark. He wants to win, and to amaze as well. Then he'll pass the bike to Rossi saying: "Here, let's see what you do." Very cool. If there is one rider who could pull off the back to back wins with different makes from this year to the next, that's Casey Stoner.
He will disappear quickly from the radars tomorrow, he's gaining 4 tenths in that last corner alone, and that will be for every lap.
Lorenzo can only hope that he loses his front end again. Rather, are we going to see a duel between Lorenzo and Simoncelli tomorrow? That would be interesting, Simzilla vs Borenzo.
Rossi pulled off one fast lap on soft tires, but does not have the pace and could fade away in the race. Assuming he can fix it in the warmup, then he could try to stay with Lorenzo and Sic and maybe take advantage of developments. We'll se

he often wins/performs good after a crash, and i wont disscount him yet.
atm he has a better situation than Rossi, though usually Vale finds something extra in warmups or the race, so i'll wait and see.

Can we hope for a battle between Lorenzo and Stoner finally?
They both were leading the practices and both are in a strong situation, Stoner was on pole last year also and has a good pace here, and Lorenzo is racing in his home land as the world champ for the 1st time.
That last lap by Rossi helped him a few rows, he was nowhere before that, If he doesn't find something in wu and his pace remains like this i expect a difficult race with a few battles for him.

Ok no I am kinda hoping for him to pull this one off. It would be a great way to end the Duc./Stoner era.
Lorenzo tops the time sheets again..man.
Over this year I've (finally?) come to the realization that he is a crazy enigma in this sport, a freak, much like Rossi was in his early years. This guy is on a ............. roll with no end in sight..
As much as it pains me to say it, but I believe he will take the crown next year again and who knows, maybe even the year after that.
And btw, I don't hate the guy, more power to him, he's good.
Yes he's good - and could easily win it all, but the thought of Stoner on a Honda is frightening. The Honda is probably the best bike out there right now, especially in terms of horsepower, so he should fly. And I'll be glad to see him show up the evil dwarf. And what about Rossi? Hard to guess..

Yes I have been a fan of Sideshow Bob for a while now. I put him either as more aggressive than Rossi with his passes or lacks the finesse to pull them off quite the same. His biggest issue is consistency but once he has the bike working, he is quick. If he hadn't been injured last year in the 250s, I would have tipped him to defend his crown.
Now I know Jumkie and others will say what about etiquette? My answer is that I don't really care in the sense that it's not my job to police. If he is too out of line, he'll get a penalty and will hopefully learn from that.
