need a bit of info into the pirelli tyre plz, we all say in gp the michelin r the best but wot about pirelli? im not up onthe tyre issues so wot would pirelli bring to motto gp, if they go well in wsb then why not gp?
years ago i had a xr2 fiesta and had front michelins and had pirelli which i found to be the best when going round fast corners..
 
We are talking about bike race tires, When Pirelli came into WSBK the times were inmediatly worse, thats why we know that Michelins were better.

Pirelli has improved in the last two years, but I doubt they are as good as Michelin (or Bridgestone), because they don't have any competition apart from themselves. Michelian, Bstone and Dunlop are fighting each other constantly and they test a lot, and that improves their tires, Pirelli isn't in that war.

So I think Pirelli would embarrass themselves if they tried to build MotoGP tires, they are (technologically) way behind Michelin and Bstone.
 
i sort of agree with teo.

Pirelli are behind michelin, but look at how they have come along! Bayliss has just whooped the valencia lap record set by neil hodgson/999/michelin qualifiers with a pirelli race tyre!

Ps. Winner that was a silly remark about the car tyres mate, production car tyres are a TAD different to racing motorbike slicks!
 
I agree that Pirelli being a control tyre in WSBK and not present in GP will leave them in the stone age in respect to tyre technology, because they don't have any competion to beat.
How did a brand like Pirelli get the contract anyway? Money I guess.....

also ron if uve had a car xr2 and hit a corner at 70 or 80 and a tight one on both tyres then ud know wot id mean? and i was statin a car tyre yes so only wanting info not a slagging match,,, my xr2 was pumped up and doing only 25 to the gallon. weeeeeee have a look at that corner wooooooooooooooom
