Tyre (Tire) Testing

Monday's Jerez testing saw Bridgestone pull out a new front tyre. I can only find that Rossi tested this new tyre. I may be wrong on this so I invite a correction but if it was only Rossi then this is a concern. If Bridgestone are developing an updated control tyre then they should be giving it to at least every factory team at the same time to test and provide feedback. The control tyre should not be being tested with feedback from just one rider. I don't care who that rider is if it was Stoner I would still have an issue with it. The risk is that it ends up being developed in the direction that gives advantage to that rider, team and manufacturer. Imagine if light weight Pedrosa was charged with this task or if Suzuki was given the job.

My other concern is that the rider, team and manufacturer doing the testing is developing their own data that can be applied when that tyre enters circulation for everyone. With testing at an all time low this is a huge advantage.

It wasn't only Rossi who tested the tyre. Mika Kallio says in his website update that he too tested the new front tyre among other things. Also says there that he completed 102 laps during the testing... That's real friggin lot, isn't it?

Perhaps other Teams were asked to try it and decided not to; for setup and data improvement with what they have actually. Not everyone likes to try new things, remember Pedrosa & Hatden’s debate?

I knew it, only the selected few gets to try this new tyre(tire).

Btw at least Lorenzo had the same duties on this practice day as Rossi did according to MotoGP.

Others might have been able to sneak away to work on more pressing issues...

Why do you say it was only rossi testing the tyre ? do you have a link or something to support this ?

I think that based on the fact that Kallio tested it as well, propably EVERYONE tested it / could have tested it if they wanted. Seems obvious to me anyway.

In comments from the riders after testing I could only find that Rossi made a comment that he tested a new front for Bridgestone. In my post I asked if this was the case and asked to be corrected if it wasn't. Wander corrected me. No conspiracy Rog.

Didn't say there was, just the way you were banging on i thought you may have read something somewhere that's all. To assume just because you only heard one comment from one rider

Funny thing is i dont think the Fiat boys have a problem with the front there using so no that much of an advantage if he were the only one.
