What you think of van Persie??? I know he's still injured, but he really did a good job imo. And you probably also like Dennis Bergkamp
<
I think he was GREAT!!!!

You should support Ajax as well!!! And Barçelona too!!!!!
<
Or not..lol

I know exactly what you mean, you described it very well!! every year the 1st day of free practize is just amazing, especially when you're on the main grand stand in assen, you just feel the noize in the concreet bellow you and ego-ing in the roof and come back. everything seems to shake a bit

I don't mind going on my own, in fact in some ways I prefer it, I have certain places at the track I like to sit and stuff like that, and if I went with anyone else im pretty sure we wouldn't be sprinting to see the podium either
<

Tom, good description of it mate, I know the feeling. I think its the fact that you could travel round the world, and yet nowhere could you find motorcycles like these, and nowhere could you find the men riding them. Thats what I meant by 'in the prescence of greatness' bit...

I was there in 2005, when Rossi blew em to bits in the wet. I was up at Craners. He came round on their tail one lap, and on the next lap, he had a lead of about three or four seconds. Bam, just like that. Everyone in the crowd just shut up. Almost as if they couldn't believe what they were seeing. The lead grew for a few laps, then he put the cruise control on and that was it. All of a sudden I found my brain drifting off to 12 years earlier, and Ayrton Senna pulling similar miracles in the wet, at the exact same bit of tarmac. I realised then how lucky I was, to be able to view this genius at work, someone who will be talked about for years to come, probably after I'm dead and buried. I was there.

I guess its like what an artist must feel when he visits the Sistene Chapel. Anyway im waddling on a bit now, I'm off ter 'mek a cuppa

This post sums up what the score is for me, and probably all of us.

We may slag the .... out of each other and our fave riders, but we are all fans at the end of the day.

Cause you just have to go man, even if that means going alone..cause in the end you're going to watch the race.
Can't say I know the feeling, but soon enough I will..

Damn, I'm really excited!!!!! I can't stop looking at the tickets

I was exactly the same before my first F1GP. It was 2000, I'd saved my pocket money for quite a while to go (I was only 10 at the time) but realistically I needed someone to take me.. And then on Christmas morning I opened an envelope from my grandparents, two tickets to the Grand Prix, one for me and one for my dad.. Insane doesn't even begin to describe how I felt at that moment, it was the only time I came close to swearing with joy in front of my grandparents
<

Unfortunately, we woke up at about 3am to go, and instantly I felt sick. I threw up quite a few times, but I wasn't missing this for anything. We set off, I kept being sick in the car on the way (luckily we took blenty of bags
<
). Thankfully, as soon as we got to the circuit, it went away. But I can remember the first time the cars went passed, indescribable..

That was what did it for me, and thats what made seeing Rossi in particular so special.
