You are consistent.

Hey man, did you notice he had two first row quals in two races? If he stays with the lead pack at Jerez, (as he did most of Qatar) will you give the man some credit? Haha. I don't really care, but I'm enjoying you crap on this guy. (I don't know why I get a kick out of it, I like him, I guess it’s just funny to me).

Anyway, I vote for Toesland as a hunch for future achievement in MotoGP (even though he didn't qual well at Jerez). But so far he was impressive at Qatar. However, can this poll be any more premature? Geez, we have had one race where Toesland placed 6th and Edwards 7th. It wasn't a blow out now was it? Can we have this poll mid season again? What if Edwards places 6th and Toesland 7th at Jerez, will this change any minds? Also, consider that Edwards has been Rossi's lap dog. Lets see how these guys pan out now that they are both dependent on factory Yamaha. BTW, did anybody notice that Yamaha may postpone the new engine for the satellites until the factory has accumulated a few championship points?

Now if we were comparing their WSBK championship, each with a pair, then Edwards would win hands down!

Achievements to this date - easily Edwards

My opinion of their potential for the future - easily Toseland

<

I have wondered that many a time ! At the time I tought it was a total travesty and I thought Colin deserved the Repsol ride.

"Who the hell is Nicky Hayden anyway ?" I seem to remember saying. Back in the bad old days before broadband & Sky TV AMA was something that you just couldn't watch in the UK and I was pretty miffed for Colin when 'his' bike went to some chump I'd never heard of.

Clearly, a couple of years later, Nicky justified himself but had things been different - I rekon Colin WOULD have had a far different MotoGP career. He WOULD have ridden it as well as or maybe even better than Nicky and therefore - given the poor results for Rossi in the 2006 season - the title could have been Colins for the taking.

but it's all....... Could-a, Would-a, Should-a isn't it.

Colins a top bloke & I like him. He might beat JT 2-moro but he won't finish above him come the end of the season.

PS - BLOODY GOOD SAVE TODAY

Well nice to know im not alone in wondering about that one.Honda it seems have zero loyalty after winning WSBK (on a bike that remained undeveloped for the majority of the season) and the 8 hours for them youd have thought the vacant seat at Repsol was Colins. That time Hondas disloyality worked for Nicky and know it would seem its his turn
<
Also if Colin had been in the Repsol squad in 2003 when Valentino left for Yamaha in 2004 Colin would have been in charge of the RCV's development most probably and what is Colin very good at?And what was Hondas problem in 2004 and 2005 oh yes lack of specific direction for development
<
.Oh and Colin finished ahead of Nicky on the Cube first time out at Suzuka
<
Ill calm down now (maybe should have had this rant 3 or 4 years ago)! And yes it is all complete coulda woulda shoulda

Let me make some alterations to your original post

Honda have ZERO respect for their SBK riders. This is how they lost Vermeulen to Suzuki.

Honda have an AMAZING talent of losing talent.

I haven't been around in a while IR. Toseland is supposed to be getting the pneumatic lump starting at Estoril. It seems that an extra 10kph should give Toseland the edge against Edwards.........in theory.

Wham! Bam! Thank you Ma'am.

What a fight from being so ill! I can't wait till he gets the new motor.

Edwards, Edwards, Edwards...
True to form. You can set a clock by this guy.

Excellent in free practice, Excellent in QP....

Ahh. Wait for it....... wait....... wait....
yes...

no show in the race...

At this point I see why he shut down his BBS forum. I still like the guy and root for him but I just don't get why he can't get it done in the race.

Maybe he should become the development rider. He is still fast and still talented but just seems to go backwards in the race

thats assuming he ever had it of course...

JT has already outshone Edwards in motogp imo and he's only done 2 rounds!

was a bloody good save thought i will admit

Aren't they both scheduled to get it?

Yep.

Why anyone wonders about Edwards on a Repsol Honda is beyond me. The guy had a factory Yamaha for 3 years and did jack, the bike that won 11 races in 05. Nicky Edwards is a test rider for the factory and his team mate at this level.

i reckon nicky would love edwards as a teammate. no pressure, can just say the bike is .....
