2.Qatar... ducati and stoner blew every one except rossi away completely and rossi could do nothing about stoners faultless ride. the best season opener in recent times IMO

I Agree with you on I and 2!

We do seem to agree on quite a few things!!

3 for me would be Catalunya!

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (jazkat @ Jan 13 2008, 04:37 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>lol funny you said that because i wasnt sure but in the end i decided assen, as much as i loved catalunya rossi's ride in assen was top notch, it made me realise rossi hasnt lost nothing that performance was a work of art and the bike/tyres worked well and wouldnt have been possible if they didnt, if i was asked what is my favorite battle of the season then it would be catalunya for sure it was a great race.
At assen rossi always had the measure of stoner and the rest of the field; it was only exciting because rossi/yamaha did not get the set-up right until after practice/qualifying. It was like one of stoner's dominant rides except that rossi started from 12th; there were no real battles as he carved through the field, even when he caught up with stoner. If I wanted to be curmudgeonly, I could say stoner was affected by his crash in warm-up; rossi in the race rode at the pace stoner set in free practice but stoner did not which was uncharacteristic for him in 2007. To be honest, rossi rode like a god (or a rossi as the case may be), and if stoner hadn't crashed in the warm-up (entirely his own fault of course) he may have been able to put up more of a fight but rossi would still likely have won.

Whilst I was never in doubt during the race that rossi had the pace at assen and would win, at catalunya he did not really have the pace and still looked like he might win right till the end.

By the way, I don't think it is unreasonable that as a rossi fan your favourite 2007 race was a magnificent win by rossi.

- Assen
- Catalunya
- Estoril
(but PI also was very nice until Hayden stayed in the game!)

Next year i would like to see Stoner down the field to see if he can carve through the field Rossi style... at Assen Rossi had to give stoner a run and he still caught him. Most of Stoners victories have been from the front.

yes i put assen at number 1 because i think it was a good performance thats why i asked for favorite 3 races of 2007, but if someone asked me though what would be my favorite battle of 2007 then i would have put catalunya at number 1 even tho stoner won it was a very very well deserved win.

He did it in the wet, but not in the dry. Then again, he never had the opportunity in the dry as he never started lower than the second row

. I actually agree with you that stoner is more of a dominate from the front rider, even psychologically, and unlikely to pull out a rossi-type bravura performance after a poor practice.

I am hoping that we won't have any dry races next year when one rider is a second a lap faster than the rest from the start. Rossi has amply demonstrated his ability to carve through the field in all sorts of circumstances without such an advantage. Hopefully the 800 formula will develop so that he can continue to do it.

1. Caty - I still watch this race about every other week to pump me up. Funny how you always want Pedrosa to give it a shot on the brakes or something but he is just a spectator

2. Assen - Awesome to see Rossi at his finest.

3. Lagina - I know I know, its only because I was there

ooops I said Lagina

(Laguna)
