I did see where Haslam had resigned with BMW for next year in WSBK. Not sure about Corser. Im guessing he has had about enough.

good thing for elias to end up on a italian bmw, they at least use the same cheating electronics package as the rest of the field.

elias + squishy pirellis = race wins?

i wouldn't expecet elias to end up in a crt team...can't imagine that someone would actually consider tailoring a bike around a midget with a very unorthodox style...as cool as it looks though

corser is still performing great but i can't see him doing another couple of years on sub-par machinery

reminds me of him maybe He could do BSB

This Puzzles me, Corser has been no better than average for a good few years now and is sureley on his way down the ladder

well ,compare corser to xaus and all other bmw riders(except maybe haslam ,but he hasn't done much this season). he's been the closest to a race win of all bmw riders although i for sure agree that he in fact is on his way down the ladder...maybe his last season?

whoa edit : i had his 2010 and 2009 season in mind ,didnt realize until now that he sucked so bad this year

Since Melandri seems to have chosen Kawasaki, BMW may take Elias. He could do well in WSBK. Toni has won a world title in Moto2 last year and was even able to podium on a satellite Ducati in the recent past, yet in 2011 he disappeared, another sad casualty of the current Bridgestone tires, which he cannot bring up to temperature even on a Honda with a beautiful and well tested twin spar aluminum frame...

i knew about yamaha pulling out but why don't they do a althea ducati kinda thing?

how an officially factory backed kwaki effort can be more lucrative to any rider than a ride on a yamaha is beyond me

Im guessing it has to do with $$$$$$. Plus, the Kawi has shown signs of life. People are saying with the right people in place, and a little money, it can compete.

ah come on, thats what has been said about their effort for years now.

melandri will disappear from the world stage if he joins kawasaki .

nobody can survive the desmosedici AND a kawasaki year

Times from day 1:

1. Marco Melandri (Works Yamaha) 1'36.0

2. Carlos Checa (Althea Ducati) 1'36.3

3. Eugene Laverty (Works Yamaha) 1'36.3

4. Tom Sykes (PBM Kawasaki) 1'36.5

5. Ayrton Badovini (BMW Italia) 1'36.8

6. Jonathan Rea (Castrol Honda) 1'36.9

7. Joan Lascorz (PBM Kawasaki) 1'36.9

8. Alex Hofmann (Alitalia Aprilia) 1'37.0 (test rider)

9. Steve Martin (BMW Motorrad) 1'37.9 (test rider)

10. Ruben Xaus (Castrol Honda) 1'38.0

11. Toni Elias (BMW Italia) 1'38.1

12. Chris Vermeulen (PBM Kawasaki) 1'38.4

13. Makoto Tamada (Castrol Honda) 1'39.8

Elias is 1.3sec behind Badovini for the first time, I think it is a so-so result. However to be behind the test riders is not a good sign, hope he improves tomorrow. Actually why does Alex Hoffman not race any more? He does not seem to be that lost on the RSV4. Aprilia should have given him a wildcard ride at Nürburgring.

Thats the rumor. Yamaha has announced they are pulling out of WSBK next year. Kawasaki has dumped Paul Bird Mototrsports and Tom Sykes, and will have a factory effort with Melandri..

To me that's just wrong for Kawak to dump Sykes, he's outperformed on that .... bike many times this season. I mean I wouldn't be surprised if this rumor is true given the impact Melandri has had off the bat is his first WSBK season, but shows how much value Kawak puts into loyalty. I think Sykes has been put in a hard spot in his WSBK career so far, poor guy was Spies' teammate, then had to go straight to the backmarker Kwak bike.

There is 2 ways to look at it, your way, or, he woefully underperformed on a championship bike. Sykes is a good rider, but he falls into that category of interchangable with 10 other riders, He just hasnt done enough to seperate himself from a bunch of other guys who are always looking for a ride.
