It seems rediculous now, but before this season came it was generally accepted that a satellite Honda will be better than all but Yamahas factory bikes. Shinya made the right decision, nobody would have predicted what happened.

No, he made the wrong decision! Hindsight is a wonderful thing but he should have looked at what happened to Tamada ... that was a clear indication on what not to do!

why is he brainless ?

he left a better team and had to deal with a tyre switch... not to mention a different bike.

there was no need to leave, i'm sure they where not pushing him out the door as he was the one getting the results.

Gresini had an option in the contract to automatically renew Elias for the 08 season, the option expired some time ago, so obviously Gresini wasn't that keen on Toni, or on the conditions of the contract, maybe he thought he should pay Toni less money.

Since Toni has signed for D'Antín, who is unlikely to be paying Toni too much, I guess either there was some personal problem, or Toni was unhappy about what he got from the team and/or Honda rather than a money problem.

Still, I'll looking forward to see the new battles Guintoli vs Elías on Ducs and Nakano vs DeAngelis

Gresini Honda sign Nakano, Elias to Ducati

(updates with Elias joining d'Antin Ducati)
MILAN, Oct 25 (Reuters) - Japan's Shinya Nakano will ride for Gresini Honda in next season's MotoGP, the Italian/Japanese team said on Thursday.

The deal with Nakano, who switches from Konica Minolta Honda, halts speculation about a return for Max Biaggi and spells the end for Spaniard Toni Elias at Gresini.

Elias has signed with Luis d'Antin's satellite Ducati team for next year, MotoGP's official Web site (www.motogp.com) said.

Honda's Marco Melandri had already decided to join Ducati for 2008 leaving the 30-year-old Nakano riding alongside 23-year-old MotoGP rookie Alex De Angelis next year.

"I will be pleased to learn something from the team. I believe we can have a good season together," Nakano told the team Web site (www.gresiniracing.com).

"I also look forward to working with Bridgestone tyres as well. I have good memories with them," he added.

Australian Casey Stoner on a Ducati has already won this year's MotoGP title. The final race is in Valencia on Nov

Good news for TE. He deserves another shot. His poor results this year are a reflection of his injuries ( remember that leg twisting ) and a crappy Honda. Guintolli will keep him on his toes though!

Good for both, but it's going to be really weird.

The honda looks ok doing funny shapes and being slammed into corners, but the Duke looks like a big barge for Toni to manhandle.

He'll do it, but I suspect it'll look VERY weird.
