I know frosty! but it's the only source I have! it basically says that honda will prevend max from going to gresini blah blah, and the last part they say this:

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE<div class='quotemain'>Last weekend Luis d'Antin has confirmed at the Spanish Television that the coming of Toni Elias to the Ducati satelite team is certain and so it makes the path clear for Nakano. Hopefully more news later on.

be a shame to see torpedo toni go but im excited to hear about shinya.
<

shinya's too good to be without a ride....even if this seasons results have been crap.
now lets see what he can do on a dodgy honda with good tyres....

<

i think he will post much better results......(hard not to with what hes done this year!)

I believe all Shinya needs is those Bridgestones back (look what Tamada did with them in the past) and he'll be right up there.. He also seems like a nice enough bloke, so hopefully he'll be able to mentor DeAngelis and help him find his feet...

Elias = D'antin, done deal

Shinya is brainless to be honest.

Toni is a little devil as Rossi said and hes entertaining when the bike is ok.

Well, as we say in Oz, you'd have to think he was a stubbie (ie bottle) short of a six-pack to have left Team Green for Team Stealth ... wasn't the smartest of choices was it?!

ah, but who would have thought the honda/michilin's would be so ...... he had no way of knowing that. i think its rider's like shinya that are the reason why bridgstone are so good now. how much development work did casey do for them so give shinya some respect.

But alas, that's the point! I'd guess he would have been in the know about Team Green dumping Harald Eckl and taking the factory taking the team under their own umbrella! Also, Bridgestone were definitely on the rise last year and ...., he had spent so much time helping them develop the tyres for the bike! Konica Minolta were absolute rubbish last year so he went there on what you would have to think was a "promise"! Risky business I think!

Shinya has had a bad year and yeah Casey probably has in some small way benefitted from his Bridgestone devleopment work. But when it's all said and done, smart people make smart choices ....

Team Green/Bridgestone to Team Stealth/Michelin ... I'll give Shinya 2-3/10 but only for the Honda factor!

As for Casey ... 'nough said ... proof is in the pudding!

Yer! Like suffering tyre blow-outs out 300+kph.. He sure did the hard yards ..

That was nasty and certainly a one off! But at Team Green he was regularly in the spotlight! Let's face it ... Honda has seven engines on the grid and it's not as if those engines are an evolution of the previous year! He took a HUGE risk going to Honda as number 5 or 6 in the pecking order! If you asked a bookmaker he would without doubt tell you to stay away from those odds!

not that it makes a lot of difference but i heard he was doing well over 200mph. i will never forget watching him tumbling down the track thinking he must be dead
<
but he got up brushed and himself off
<
<

if i remember correctly ,i didnt have a bad word to say about bridgstone the team or bike, infact i think he got a podium the following race, but i could be wrong there.

considering that there was the whole Eckl thing going on AND that kwaka were the last to release their 800, and tamada had done ok @ team montiron, i dont think that was a stupid move all things considered. the only real risk at the timke was the michelin factor.....

no one knew that the '07 honda would suck ... so much and that michelin would be so crap.....and kawa wernt filling everyone with confidence either.....

so why is/was he a bonehead?

Tamada OK?! He finished last in the Honda riders MotoGP cup last year!! As a previous Japanese/Bridgestone winner he moved to Monitrons team on Michelins and let's face it was rubbish! If Shinya could draw a parallel to anyone that was it ... he made EXACTLY the same mistake! Deja Vu they call it!

It seems rediculous now, but before this season came it was generally accepted that a satellite Honda will be better than all but Yamahas factory bikes. Shinya made the right decision, nobody would have predicted what happened.
