Is anyone else tired of seeing Valentino Rossi win? The main attraction to Rossi was he was the good guy fighting evil (Biaggi). Well and the fact he is simply unbelievable but that's not the point. With this latest stunt he's pulled against Gibernau I'm not so sure he's the good guy anymore. I'm ready to see someone else put the moves on Rossi and see how he handles things from the position Biaggi and Gibernau have been in for the past years.

Hi Ooost,

This debate could turn nasty!!
<

My personal opinion is no. I think the way Rossi wins races is spectacular.....lets face it, he isnt sat on the best machine either.

I think was isnt too hot is the gap between 1st & 2nd place.....we dont want motoGP getting like F1 now do we!!

I think what would be good for the sport & racing in general, if the "mid-ranged" riders all started challenging for positions #1 & #2 more.

Who can realistcally challenge for this seasons title? Only Sete in my opinion.....and he needs to get more aggressive and start racing, instead of trying to get in the lead early and stay in the lead.

I think the day motoGP gets like F1 (past 3 seasons, Schumi winning all the time) & is BORING to watch..then that will be a sad day. But, Sunday's race wasnt boring....first half was a bit stuffy....you cant beat those last laps for entertainment!

Roll on the debate..................

There is no doubt watching him win races is spectacular. I just wonder how he would handle the pressure if someone, say Gibernau or Hayden or anyone really were to play his game. Follow him around for 24 laps, stalk and pressure and force mistakes for two, then make their move and check out. It would be interesting to see how he responds to it.

Yeah it would be interesting..............but no one seems to do it!!
<

It would be very good TV if there is a ding dong battle with Rossi & Sete, with Rossi in 1st on the last few laps............talk abou tension!

Ben.

i am sick of hearing this cliche of gp's getting like F1.

that is imposable cos there is constant overtaking in motogp, unlike F1, Rossi yes is on a crap bike, and why do you think he resort's to these sort of tactic's? cos he has to,every race rossi is on the ragged edge, but i think now some of these other rider's should turn the table on him, and rough him up a bit see how he like's it,and just hope he does'nt go running to Dorna[governing body]that they are all picking on me,cos now people are getting sick of these bully tactict's from rossi, but rossi know's after this last incident that he will get the backing of Dorna cos they want to keep him in the sport, and dont want to upset him,so if he gets's away with it, so should the rest, so let's see if the other rider's will turn the table's on the golden boy.
Anyone remember last season when Tamada put that move on Gibber's,a far lesser shunt than the one rossi put on Gibenau, put he touched[which we now know is ok],but he had the win taken fron him for the alledged illeagal move, but now race director Paul Butler is saying "maybe the Tamada punishment was a MISTAKE,but we take each case on merit,"i will say no more but if you get the MCN this week it is all in there. These double standard's must stop, rossi is a good rider and i love to watch him,but we all need to be singing off the same sheet of music, cos people like me who like to watch this sport are getting pee'ed of with the rule's being bent when it suit's.

Rossi wins because he is better than the rest and what makes it even more incredible is that he does it on a slower less developed machine quite often with completely shagged tyres would you prefer they all took it in turns to win and as you choose to compare it to F1 would you prefer team orders maybe rossi could pull up just before the line and let someone else win
<

as for following someone trying to force them to make a mistake THATS RACING
<

no one saw the off camera incedent where two riders came together in the same way as rossi and sete there is no fuss being made about that if you leave enough room for someone to fit a bike in then you get what you deserve sete knew rossi was there thats why he turned in on him
what im bored of is people going on about one incedent on one corner move on
<

im a big rossi fan and i came bak into gp big style in 2000 and that reason was because of vale, if u love the sport then u must love riders that cum along and do things like rossi, the yam is nowhere near the honda so 2 c rossi win races uve got to ask urself how hes doing it, well hes doing it because he dosnt know how 2 lose and he takes lines no 1 else does to get the little bit extra he needs to win,
yes if sum 1 came along and gave rossi sum aggresion then yeah ur right hows he gunna react? well id like 2 thing hed say game on and try even harder if possible, so the people who slate him wake up hes a winner and the best and 1 ell of a rider who is making moto gp MASSIVE AGAIN,,

I totally agree ben. :yeah:

This thread threw me, until I saw how old it was. I think the question is still valid, though, although for entirely different reasons nowadays.

I read the question as:

"Is anyone else tired of seeing Valentino Rossi win?" (ref: post #1)

Not much chance of that happening in 2014.

Oh how things have changed, but much of the sentiment towards Rossi hasn't.

To be fair I don't really have too much against Vale (despite the tone of some of my posts). I do have a problem with his following of moronic fans. Go onto a facebook, twitter, etc page and someone writes something about Scott Redding, Maverick Vinales, in fact any other rider than Rossi and you can bet that some yellow-clad numb nuts will post something like "Go, go, go VR46" or "Win Rossi" or "46 is the greatest" or "VR :throb: 46" or some other similar bollocks which has absolutely feck all to do with the original posting. Pees me right off :suicide:

Mr Guevara is barely ever on here any more - I think the forum is a duller place without him (as would it be without your good self - not that I'm saying I agree with what you write, but the reaction it gets from other PSers provides me with amusement in my otherwise dull existence)
