Hey Streetfighter girl. I went to Catalunya about 2 years ago. We stayed in Barcelona, because well barca is a cool city, but bear in mind that the circuit is about 1 hour from Barcelona Central. It didnt bother us though, I have heard other people who stayed closer to the circuit and said that it is very lively, i cannot remember the name of the town, but its really up to you.
In terms of where we sat, we had tickets for the grandstand on the last corner, not sure what stand that is called, but good view of the riders coming out of the second last corner and down to the last corner before they head up to the final straight, again, we had a great time, but I do not know if this is the best part of the track. I am currently looking at last years British GP in Silverstone, to get an idea of overtaking hotspots to try and aid my decision on where abouts i should be on track to get the most action as i will be attending this August.
Hope this helps a little, Catalunya is a great track and the spanish are seriously into their bikes
