Or maybe he will stick around at least until 2010 as his contract with Yamaha says he will. :/

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Tom @ Sep 20 2008, 02:08 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Well funily enough i don't have a problem with my feeling that Rossi was not performing well in the last two season, because it is supported by the results. He's certainly riding incredibly well now, but he's still old and he's still not the force he used to be.

Hmmm--the current Valentino is possibly the best Valentino ever, which is what was needed to beat the young and formidable Casey Stoner. He never prepared so seriously for a season, going to the gym and changing his lifestyle etc.
As Doohan said, if Rossi keeps fit he can keep winning for some more time.

If Rossi wins at Motegi it will be a perfect ending to a perfectly sub par season.

I think that we had better racing in 07 than 08. What a long lasting parade. Not one race this year has come down to the wire or even the last lap. I hope that everyone comes out in 09 with very competitive packages.

Congrats to Rossi. He really played well this year.

And thats not saying much, I blame Stone or should I blame Ezy, Lex help I'm confused

Motegi has spooked Rossi and I think he will concentrate on his rhythm in the first few laps. So I would expect to see him drop back initially and once he gets his rhythm he will slowly climb back up. So if there is no one running away with it at that time he may be able to take the win. However I think that Stoner and Pedrosa will be aware of this so they will try and make an early break. If stoner makes an early break and keeps it on track he will take the win. Rossi to finish second in that case, which will give him the title. How great it would be if no one makes a break and 8 of them dice it out to the last corner?. Wishful thinking I suppose, but will still enjoy.

I'd like him to win as soon as possible, but I'd love to see stoner's face on the podium
<
, looking up at ROSSI from 3rd place, whilst ROSSI takes the championship from him.

Wishful thinking Rock

Don't matter he's got it sown up, he's bound to have one bad race out of the remaining four, or is he????

I'm hoping for Motegi but P.I. will do for obvious reasons

well that is why they just dont start the season with the trophies to whomever they think. That would be to blatent so they still have to race the race. This is where anything can happen.

I don't know how much it has spooked him. He does have a bad record here but it has also been a Bridgestone track the later years. But most important, he is on a roll braking the spell at LC, winning at both Misano and Indy should be enough to boost confidence for any rider.
But his notorious bad starts may very well prove your scenario right anyway. Eh, not the 8 of them dicing it out though, that IS wishful thinking unfortunatly
