Ya know I like Nicky he is pretty cool. I think he would be a great addition to the Ducati team. How funny and sweet it would be if he gets on the Duc and starts to dominate. I for one would be happy to see it. IT would also be great if he stuffs it to pedrosa for all his negative comments about Hayden.

i think 99% of the forum want to see that happen

I think Ducati will be happy if Hayden can pull the occassional 5th place even ...... if you look at the constructors championship this year ...... its not very flattering for Ducati ........ Loris obviously was worth a few points ...... which actually also helped Stoner out by taking points from other riders whenever he beat them.

So long as Stoner is winning and Hayden is riding one ...... Duc's will sell in the US like hotcakes.

If Hayden could pull the very occasional first ( like Capi at Motegi ) that would be very beneficial to Duc. ........ in 08 its become blatantly obvious its wasn't the Duc. .... it is Stoner

NO! Only part of the season. It started after they saw the rancor of Stoner's first win.

When Hayden dumps the ...... team he has now and joins the Ducati squad he will be better off. When he opens the throttle for the first time on the Duke the grin on his face will go ear to ear.

i hope he gets the chance. maybe melandri is more talented than hayden, but at least hayden isnt a quitter. ive thought highly of MM's skill for years, but this season has tarnished my opinion of him. we probably know next to nothing about what really goes on in motogp, but marco looks pretty bad in all this. ducati has nothing to lose signing NH... period.

Ducati has nothing to lose, but Nicky certainly does....

and in my view, MM is giving up so that ducati will showing the door sooner rather than later, and then MM won't have to pay Ducati to get out of contract early...

I kinda agree ...... I don't think Hayden can win on the Duc. though ..... but it doesn't matter if he does win on a Duc. the US fans will buy them. They may also have the added benefit of it being a WC winning bike if Stoner gets there in the end.

But ..... I'd hate the cries to go up next year of .... " The Duc. is designed for someone with big teeth!"

Yeah PA I thought that Marco was the great undiscovered talent on the grid that just needed that factory seat for the chnace to really win. I think though when he gets back on a honda he will be back up there. As for Hayden he clearly is going to do better with a team that wants him to do well instead of being a test mule. Sucks for him right now cause he is also better than the results he has shown.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Pinky @ Jul 12 2008, 07:19 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>ducati wont accept mediocrity, which hayden is. they wont want to get into a situation like honda, where they want to let go of him, but cant because hayden fans will cry about how he wasnt given a chance and he got no support.

ducati wont want that baggage even with the american market. hes only 27 so if hayden does sign to ducati he may hang around them too long with no exit strategy like honda has and will be like a bad smell to them.

Hayden doesn't demand huge sums of money which is good for Ducati.
Whats his pay at Honda around $2m + bonus?

about 2m$ I think is right but not sure whether that is per year or for the contract period.

I've actually been wondering about this for a while, is there an income list of MotoGP riders, excluding their sponsorship deals and everything, but purely what the teams pay them.

Daryl Beattie was chatting about Melandri's Plight .... then went into what Vermulen was up to ..... saying Vermulen was touted for Baylis's ride in 09 but he does not want to go to SBK ...... I was left wondering .... is that a hanging suggestion that Vermy may be the "new Ducati rider" for 09 .... I'm sure Casey would back it.

unfortunately his passport will prevent this from happening

I think he means that ducati are happy to have one, but not two australian riders.
