Hi everyone...I'm new here and this is my first post. Yay! Just like to share some photos I found of the new bikes. They're absolutely gorgeous! Look at those disc brakes and sprockets! Honda gets my vote for most sexy bike! Main changes I can see for the Honda's are the engine design and aerodynamics, the rear hugger is almost parallel to the ducktail...sleek baby! And the exhaust is now below the fairing instead of the tail! The ducktail is also shorter, giving it a way more sexier, compact look (from a woman's perspective this is!). Rossi's still old school though, with his pipe still at the side. Ok I should stop talking...I keep on going on and on! I'm no expert at bikes, but that's just my 2 cents worth. Anyone's welcome to correct my supreme lack of knowledge. I'm learning slowly but surely!

I don't know if this topic belongs here or if this is old news and everyone's seen the photos already...just hope everyone enjoys it as much as I did!

Most have already seen the Yam's and the Duke's...but the Honda's are the most recent ones.

Enjoy!

Btw, hope I did well for a first post lol! Cheers!

Welcome to the site. The Honda is very intruiging looking, the short tail gives it the look of a Buell. I'm not certain whether or not I like it. If Dani was .8 behind Sete on both of their debut rides on the 800s and the Ilmor claims to be faster than the Ducati, Ilmor will be a force to be reckoned with in 2007. McCoy just might throw a wrench in the spokes of 2006...

i was about to post'm
<

but i got lap times.
<

By the end of 30 laps, Pedrosa had recorded an impressive time of 1min 48.210secs - just 0.4secs slower than his fastest 990cc lap in Sunday's Japanese Grand Prix and 0.37secs faster than Rossi's Monday best on the new Yamaha 800. However, Pedrosa was 0.8secs slower than the Bridgestone shod Ducati 800, in the hands of Sete Gibernau.

Leading Motegi MotoGP test times – Monday

1. Colin Edwards USA Camel Yamaha Team 1min 46.68 secs
2. Sete Gibernau SPA Ducati 800 1min 47.41 secs
3. Kenny Roberts Jr USA Team Roberts 1min 47.64 secs
4. Nicky Hayden USA Repsol Honda Team 1min 47.70 secs
5. Loris Capirossi ITA Ducati Marlboro Team 1min 47.89 secs
6. Kousuke Akiyoshi JPN Team Suzuki MotoGP 1min 47.89 secs
7. Dani Pedrosa SPA Honda 800 1min 48.21 secs
8. Tady Okada JPN Honda 800 1min 48.43 secs
9. Valentino Rossi ITA Yamaha 800 1min 48.58 secs
10. Nobuatsu Aoki JPN Team Suzuki MotoGP 1min 50.48 secs

Would be awesome if McSlide came in and took a podium....the Honda looks cool, but I'm not sure....I think I like the short tail, but I don't like how the hugger sticks out further than the tail....did you guys catch the exhaust.....totally hidden.....slick.....I see some potential overheating/electronics problems in the hotter circuits though, with everthing jammed tight.......

nice pix thanks jessica, i agree the honda looks mint. looks better without a paintjob!

Welcome, and great first post. Mine was totally lacking compared to yours!

Is that the new Suzuki 800?? It looks small like a kit bike or a minibike!

They all look stupendously small or is it just me? And if they are, I can't even begin to imagine how small a 500 was!

Also, are the bikes going to have a new name? Like the RC211V will have a diff name? Or the M1 will be M8? Something like that or still the same names?

the've gotta have diff names for the most part..

the DUC is the GP7, but that was easy..don't know bout the rest.

Actually the 500cc were bigger than the 990cc.

Well the new Honda is a V4, those V3 rumours were false it seems.

It looks like the fuel tank is under the seat, that should give the bike a very low mass centre, and supposedly very good handling.

The Honda will be called the RC212V, that's what Honda has said anyways.

^ i can't see them coz the links aren't allowed on the school computers..
guess ill have to look later ...

but welcome to the forum Jessica

I like the short tail, and the exhaust is horn. But I can see how someine might think it looks wrong, definately a taste thing. Three words: Duc look hot.
