Awww great  ...... Ducatis already vibrate a tad .......... and Enfields only go like 80km/h flat strap!

Was shopping for new bike and test rode a Husky FE501. Holy ....! My hands were numb after five minutes. Ended up buying KTM SXF 450.

BeIN Sport had an interesting graphic. It took the last six race points from 2016 and this year's points and added them up. Over an 18 race season spanning the last six races from the previous year, Dovi would have been champion. To bad that's not how it works for Dovi, but still kinda cool.

Valentino seems to have a lock on fourth these days.

I kinda like that little extra poke of the 501. Had an exc 450 for about 6 months then went back to a 525 (501 nowadays). Yeah you can feel each combustion stroke more but at my age less input effort to keep up is handy.
Had an sx350 for a few months found that dismal.
The Husaberg 570 remains the pinnacle for me .... but they stopped making them in favour of the 501.

The KTM does the job ok for me. Now it's got a titanium pipe and an assortment of tweaks (on the dyno at present). It's my first ever non Jap bike. Takes getting used to - what with the real light flywheel and virtually no engine braking. Very two-stroke-ish. Mine's set up as a supermoto. A total piss on back roads.

How come you used the sx as a base .... the exc gearbox is wider ratio .... good/better on road. Plus you can ride at night.

I bought it used. Hard to find KTMs in my region that are not abused. Mine is all set up street legal, head light, signals etc.

Stoner on the Ducati is always good news.

And they made him test the new 4-cylinders Panigale as well...
https://www.gpone.com/en/2017/09/19/news/exclusive-stoner-super-tester-of-the-panigale-v4-s.html

On the wave of the good results in SBK and especially in MotoGP, as expected Ducati will launch the new Panigale next November at EICMA in Milan.

Ducati need to have Stoner testing that thing once a week for the next 2 months. This is their closest title challenge in a very long time.

Pay CS whatever he wants: but get him on the bike developing it! His development skills are clearly excellent.

I've said it before but it bears repeating, Casey Stoner is the 'only' MotoGP alien.

Only if you change the interpretation of what was meant by the term alien in motogp. It was used when the was a larger gap between the front few and the rest. Nothing more. I'd say the term came more from ...... bikes then better riders. But under your definition you have to include Marc, unless you are telling me you understand what he is doing on the bike. He doesn't need to switch manufactures to prove that he rides unlike any other human.

No Stoner was the only alien ..... boppers tried to extend it to others to detract from Stoners aura.

He certainly left rossi feeling like he had been anal probed.

I am not trying to argue Rossi, JLo, & pedro belong in a category with Stoner. I am just saying originally it was just used to describe the discrepancies in time. Now with the way Jum likes to use it I find a silly to not include Marc because he has only done it on one manufacturer. Add to that Stoner looked more alien like on the ducati and a lot smoother on the honda. Marc is just a freak. I don't think it would be much of an assumption to assume he would ride like a freak on any manufacturer.

He also isn't going to retire because he doesn't like how some things are going...think about how Stoner would have handled Sepang 2015 had he been in MM's shoes versus how MM handled it.

I also don't really get how you can't look at the saves MM makes during races and then say with a straight face he can't be called an alien. Look at the elbow save/move to get the front tipped over faster at Assen this year that was getting straight comparisons to another well-known alien in Eddie Lawson.

How about his ride at the Sachsenring 2016 with that miniature dry line on racing slicks when no one else was willing to change tires yet? Think about it, MM's decision to go to slicks in treacherous conditions LED TO A RULE CHANGE FOR TEXT COMMUNICATIONS DURING RACES because he made a decision no other rider would have been willing to make.
