With all the controversy over tires, ECUs, traction control etc.....There is on thing that will always be the same no matter what, the best riders will find a way to the top. Bikes can get easier to ride, but only the best will be contenders, no matter what machinery they have. Yes you can say that people like Rossi are struggling right now, but skill is put to the test on how you can adapt to a bad situation. As I said the best will always rise above. I just wanted to show a different perspective on the situation. Rossi, Hayden, Pedrosa,Stoner, Melandri and the likes will either persevere through hardship or submit in to mediocrity, either way at these kind of times you really get to see who is the best.

I think, if we are going to reward riders for their skill and race craft, then i don't know why we should allow traction control to help them.
But, motogp is also manufacturars competition so traction control is fair game in that context.
I believe that we just have to accept the fact that the machine will have more impact as we go forward.

If TC was banned fewer riders would be capable of riding at the front. Even fewer riders would be able to handle it when their tyres go off.
It pushes the rider further and we see their talent, not the engineers.

I'd agree with that ..... there's a cpouple of years I question it but in the end that allways ends up being the case ...... and just so folk don't misconstrue what I mean ...... Hayden was not in question with me, he earned the WC more than many from the past ..... why ?? ........ just running at around Rossi's performance at that time is amazing on its own. To beat Rossi was pure hardcore riding and dilligence.

What gets me is why didn't folk complain about TC and "electronics" back then?

ROssi's is looking to change the rules to include training wheels. The rider aids are far too advanced for Rossi. He cant ride with them, thats why he threw away the 06 championship and couldnt handle the heat in 07.

Rossi is trying to restrict the lean angles to only 5deg, that way he wont slide off anymore.

I think that it's because the electronics have so much more effect now that the capacity has dropped to 800cc. With the 990s they had more power than they could use even, with TC helping to put the power down. That doesn't seem to be the case with the 800s. Plus, of course, the electronics get more sophisticated all the time.
