I don't see why people assume Schwantz will be some kind of miracle team manager. Can somebody explain to me please...

he has experance and clout, he nows whats needed because he has been there many times.

Yeah, Suzuki fans will have to hope that he hasn't lost touch too much from his overseeing role. I would expect to see get some experience by running an AMA team or something, but i've heard nothing along those lines, so apparently its not needed.

i think the only way to get prepared for running a moto gp team, is to run a moto gp team. running an AMA team will be as useful as a fart in a spacesuit....
Denning has done a good job and i think this type of news will be a bit of a blow, but if suzuki are to challenge for a title then they need to get really serious...if schwantzy is the way to do that then i'm all for it.

I always prefer a team manager who is an ex racer more than someone who has never been on a bike.

I say that Denning should stay. As far as I know Swantz has no world level experience in management and would just have his name. Denning has a proven track record and has absolutely turned the team around. No way should he be let go. I listened to the crap Swantz was saying to the media about the Spies test and I couldn't believe it. That's is not what the team needs. By the time a guy has 2 consecutive championships I think he wouldn't like getting trashed in the press by his manager about his riding style when he was lapping within 1 second of the teams lead rider when he had never seen the track before.

well if history is anything to go by suzuki are do a championship within the next couple of seasons.

Maybe not so much in 08, but in 09 with Schwantz as team director, Spies as bright promise and Rossi as experienced talent, they could be a dream team indeed. The bike is good, nneds just a little more power but that shouldn't be such a big problem with their engine design.

...you're forgetting Dovi on a Suzuki with number 34, do you think kevin would mind?

I was always first in line to criticise Suzuki but I think they're finally headed in the right direction. Morale is high, Denning's a great team boss and I think they've made an inspired move in hiring Loris. Want somebody who's good at developing a V4 racer, who else? They seem to have been frustratingly close to getting race set-up just perfect at so many tracks this year. They'll fix a lot of things over the winter, if they get any closer to having a bike that can win every Sunday will all depend how far the 'envelope' is pushed over the winter by everyone else.
