The only team to have no DNF's this season
<

Congrats
<

call me an optimist, but i really hope that this is the season that has provided the impetus to push for a serious attempt at the WC.

i can dream i guess....

well done CV and thanks to hopper for a good if not glorious season...

Didn't they have a couple of crash DNF's (ie. Laguna) and also didn't Aoki's Suzuki have a mechanical at Motegi (or where ever that was)?

Still, remove Aoki and the crashes and it is might impressive performance but does it indicate a lesser state of tune, better mechanicals, or just plain luck?

Unfortunately i think it'll be down. honda and Yamaha let them get ahead this year, that wont last.

What makes you think Suzuki are being idle in the off season? They have good foundations laid down for 08,as has all other teams of course.

Of course they have, and i would love for them to be at the front all the time. I just feel that honda particularly have the might to make the difference up (and more) over the winter and Suzuki not so much. They were top of all the times over last winter and when the racing came the results where much more mundane.

Y`bout right there Tom,with hindsight Suzuki seem to have taken smaller (but precise) steps to make an impact. All the best to them in 08 anyhow.

Suzuki's 2 biggest problems are lack of HP and little to no development during the season.

Maybe not so much in 08, but in 09 with Schwantz as team director, Spies as bright promise and Rossi as experienced talent, they could be a dream team indeed. The bike is good, nneds just a little more power but that shouldn't be such a big problem with their engine design.

really?

i thought their results got better but yea its not ideal when a rider signs for another team midway through.

This is a very generous thread considering you are a die hard Rossi fan. Yes, Suzuki has been struggling but they never gave up. This year was very good. Next year looks as good with a new machine and Capirossi who is 4th in testing on a new machine. Honda and Yamaha are huge factories. Suzuki not so much and the factory isn't even totally involved in the sport yet!!!

Onward and upward.

The last time I heard of them getting anything new was for Mugello. I know they tested stuff, but not aware of anything actually making its way onto the bike for Sunday.

The lack of development had a lot to do with the lead rider signing with another team.

Well when that news came out there "second rider" was out performing anyway, so they could have focussed on him more.

I don't see why people assume Schwantz will be some kind of miracle team manager. Can somebody explain to me please...
