Was hoping CV would do better
<

Who's got the slowest RCV?
<

And Teo, look how Melandri, Hayden, Caparossi and Hoffmann are all outdoing their Spanish teamates. Told ya Elias can't beat Melandri
<

There seems to be some discrepency as to Rossi's fastest time. From all the reports and timesheets I have read, Rossi did a 2.02.14. Then I went to the MotoGP website and the timesheet reads 2.02.14 but the report claims a 2.02.09. I wonder if the .09 time is an unofficial time from Yamaha.

All in all great stuff, Melandri .07 from Rossi and Hayden .02 from Melandri with Pedrosa only .23 behind Hayden. Really good stuff up front. Sounds like there is more to come from them all.

To be honest I'm a bit disappointed with Stoner and Elias' times, particularly Elias. From an outside perspective I find it troubling that he is going slower than Stoner and Pedrosa straight away, and by a fair margin. Also disappointed with CV, thought he'd go quicker, at least quicker than Randy de Puniet.

For me the feel good story at the moment has to be Kenny Roberts Jr. on the "KRC211V." Threw down the exact same 2.03.80 as Toni Elias on the KR chassis, amazing what a decent motor does for a team as talented as Team KR.

I thought we'd see faster times from Ellison, I had so much hope for the Dunlop rubber in 2006. Let's go James!

Ha ha Richo don't get too excited about these laptimes, we don't know if they were done in the same conditions, there are too many variables (fuel weight, tire type, track temp ...)
Elías was a bit off the pace I think, I know he doesn't care too much about fast laps in testing but probably 1'6 seconds is too much.
Vermeulen and Cardoso probably haven't been in that track before, which explains (to some extent) their slow laptimes.

really cant believe u lot looking at lap times so early hahahah muppets. roll on first race.. then its open up time

First time I've seen Rossi in the Camel colours on Shakeys avatar. Looks good if not against his 'principles'!

Great that the top 7 are within 0.7 secs of each other. It bodes well for this year. Still....1st day though!

Apperntlety Ellison's got the flu so not at 100%.. hopefully he can show us what he's made of wednesday.. if not im sure he'll do us brits proud by Jerez!

I hope so, he's true grit and I rate him highly. It would be great to see a brit inside the top 8 or so on some decent machinery for once.

it's just the first day fellas. don't put to much stock in the times yet. wait for the irta tests. this is where they'll be tryin real hard.

That's reassuring, for both of us.

Early days, mate.
How many WSBK points does Ellison have to his name? Oh that's right, he started his world championship career on a WCM.
An M1's a big advantage over a GSV-R anyway, even if it is a satellite bike on Dunlops.

Deffinately as Ooost said man of the moment is KRJR. Ive never really rated him but he is an underdog and i love them underdogs so GO KENNY! Especially with a Honda V5 their guna do much better this year.

Agree with the hats off to Dani but as he said on Crash.net he can do a few fast laps but long distances are a problem for him still due to the physical effort. Deffinatley think he will be one to watch in the latter part of the season when hes stronger.

Still think Vale's guna whoop them all this year though. Although i think he will find it tougher this year than last year as Marco and Nicky seem like they will now be consistently at the front, along with, hopefully Dani and Casey Stoner too.

Yeah, Dani still needs to work on his stamina, but he's getting there. He's impressive but you gotta give the kid time to get used to it all. A "Learning year" will do him good.
And about KR, well done to him. Remember he's the only rider still on the grid (Except from Vale, of course) who knows what it'slike to be a world champion.
