<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>The potential maximum score for both qualifying and race performance is 11 (if a rider has beaten his team-mate at every grand prix) but if one rider missed an event through injury (or temporarily switched teams in the case of Alex Hofmann) then that grand prix was not included.

The comparison does not take into account mechanical failures - if a rider failed to finish, for whatever reason, then they were given a score of 0 for that race. If both riders failed to finish, both received 0.

Checa has the big score because he beaten ellison every time, both in race and qualify.
Is it counted every race that they both finnished, and if they beat their team-mate they got a point. So Melandri beat Elias 6 times in qualify and 7 times in the race. Elias got only once a better place after a race then Melandri.
