<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Tom @ Jun 28 2007, 04:41 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>I'm not suggesting that KR hasn't been a huge figurehead in the sport, he has clearly had a long lasting and significant positive impact. But he shouldn't be financialy assisted to continue based on what he has done, it should be about what he can do. Now obviously the recent past shows us what team roberts is capable of, but things are very different now and if team roberts have no future then so be it. It will be sad when they finally leave but it will happen.
Was it really only 12 months ago that KRJR was banging in hot qualifying laps and thinking he'd won a race only to be beaten by Rossi and "scud" Elias on the last lap proper?
I think with the right cash injection, Roberts could be capable of getting some credible results again, and if they do go down it will be a huge loss to GP. The team has had a chequered history, but they keep coming back and trying, and when the gods smile, they kick a bit of arse. I'd rather see that than HRC filling the grid with RC212Vs, just because they can.
We should get behind the wee guy who is taking it to the corporations.
And lets not forget, this is the wee guy who made GP what it is today.
