Since when was MotoGP a meritocracy? Yes, it would have been good and interesting to see Spies in MotoGP so we could see what he can do over a full season. Ride opportunities fall through and some riders that seem qualified are not chosen. It is one spot on the grid field, no one is going to die b/c that spot was taken by a 'token'. Team Scot was one of many rumors for Spies. I don't see why people are hating on Takahashi when Spies didn't want to take a pay cut. Seriously, where is the criticism for Spies for getting too greedy, he for all intent and purposes would have been a rookie in MotoGP regardless of his past accomplishments. How does he deserve top dollar right off the bat? I think Spies will get a chance eventually, but this hating on Takahashi is idiotic. Who said it was even Spies' spot in the first place?
