Ok , this has got me stumped. Mat M has had the AMA title for how long now, on a Suzuki! but the WSB Suzuki is only coming good this year, and what a year for them, even at this early stage.

So whats the deal? Are Suzuki looking to sell more bikes rather than R&D a decent GP bike?

Thoughts?

Mladin has won the title in 1999, 2000, 2001, 2003, 2004, and I will guarantee another crown in 2005 barring a disaster. The thing with the GSV-R is that in 2002 it was an absolute failure, so for 2003 they started practically all over. The GSV-R is coming good, it is not at the sharp end of the point but it is getting there. I will go out and say that I think Hopkins will be battling for podiums at the end of the season. But for where they are right now they haven't done too bad for themselves. You have to look at it this way, this bike was practically designed and developed for 2003. It is in its 3rd generation. Where as the Honda was designed as far back as 2000. It is in its 5th generation. Take the 2005 GSV-R and put it up against a 2003 RC211V and i think they're pretty equal. It is just going to take time for them to develop it fully and catch the Hondas and Yamahas.
