From Matt Birt twiitter-Suzuki out of motogp. A sad day.

I hope they will come back after a short absence.

That sucks.

After how they handled their effort in WSBK with Haslam, and now this... .... 'em.

what about hopkins and de puniet?could we maybe see them in a hayate style team for 2012?this sucks

I've been following him and he hasn't said anything of the sort. Decision Friday

To clear up the confusion, Bunyip has made a mistake, Birdy tweeted 'Suzuki gone' because they have gone home from the Valencia test and won't be running today.

Tim Walpole told a group of us in the zooki garage that they were in next year but not sure about how many bikes they would be running. Also they have been secretly testing a 1000cc machine on their test track in Japan with their test rider. Both points were confirmed by my friend in zooki admin

Dear Suzuki,

Grow a set of balls. Sure your bike sucks , and your choice in riders is hardly better than the crop of replacement riders we have been getting for the last two years. But at least your bike doesnt end careers. So grow a set and stick around you ........ Dont ........ us and say its a budget thing, we all know that DORNA takes hand jobs for payment. Plus I am sure you can pay Hopkins in weed and rolling papers and he will ride.

Ezpeleta has been quoted saying Suzuki may run an 800 till mid-season, when their 1000 would be ready to roll.

I hope this is just a misunderstanding as it does seem to be. Suzuki seemed to be confident that they would have at least 1 bike on the Moto GP grid next year, if not 2. Whether it will be an 800 or 1000 doesn't matter, I would still like to see all the big manufacturer names still racing. It would also be nice to see Hopper back riding in Moto GP permanently.

I hope this is true. It wouldn't be a sad day for me, though I think the tweet may be misleading. They were uncommitted to the sport. For years they have operated like this, ruining careers and tricking us into giving them a goodwill pass. All you hear is well wishes and optimistic hopes for this brand, but all of it is underserved. I wouldn’t have respect for a person that would act like this in real life, so why should we extend this affection for Suzuki? They have gotten way more out of GP for their mediocre effort than they have given back. The only reason they were there this year is because Dorna force-fed the illusion of several competing brands, but in reality there were three, and one of them was so bad it was really a Honda/Yamaha cup (which has been the case for much of the modern era). They were given a special dispensation of engines last year, something that if another "factory" had got, it would have been Armageddon. Yet we saw little to no protest by spectators and journalist alike. I suppose the thought was, some Suzuki is better than no Suzuki. Then those same people argue the authenticity of the sport, which by now should be quite apparent that this is complete ......... Suzuki "factory" was there in paper only. And in hindsight, I think their rider was not that great either, but you wouldn't know it from all the free underserved good will he's got, as if all his DNFs were invisible. Even loyal people like Hopkins were bamboozled into thinking they would offer him something for his loyalty, not to mention the years of injuries he got in return. If Suzuki was a person, who would be his friend? Who would want somebody who lies to you, gives you the cold shoulder, who gives you the silent treatment, somebody who gets to borrow from you but never really attempts to return the loan; would you be his friend? It’s not a sad day! Good riddance! .... off now!

Well I wish it wasn't a mistake. .... Suzuki. They should leave!

Ok, obnoxious as ever but that was pretty funny man! The Hopper stuff had me laughing out loud!

The good will and optimism is for the cresent team, the guys at the actual track. They are fully commited, working just as hard as anyone in the paddock and aren't mugs by any means. Suzuki in Japan at a corporate level is where the problem lies.
