Agreed. Hate to say it, but my one glimmer of hope for an exciting season of racing in AMA Superbike was that Mladin was NOT going to be there. Races will now be like this: Mladin gets pole almost every race, he gets a considerable lead within a few laps, race over. I will even go so far as to say he will probably win every race next year. Spies was his only competition as of late and even they rarely "raced" each other. Who knows, maybe Yoshi Suzuki has had an advantage (doubtful if much) and maybe the new rules tinkering will bring the machines closer. Again I have my doubts.

I can't imagine him losing barring any sort of mechanical problems or a freak crash. My only glimmer of hope is that Tommy Hayden is healthy and back on form or Ben Bostrom discovers his form from 2001.
Was/is Mladin that much better than the field, or was the factory Suzuki the key?
Combination of both? It will interesting to see if the new series will level the mechanical side of the
game. First race should be interesting. DMG must be praying he doesn't run away with the season opener.

I would say 90% Mladin and Spies and the Yoshimura TEAM, 10% Suzuki being a better bike. Like i said before, the overall numbers will say the racing is better and DMG will grab hold of that as press fodder.Guys that rode Superstock bikes in Superbike last year, about half the field, will be a lap down instead of a lap and a half and they will crow that the racing has gotten much better. As bad as Mladin hates Edmondson,he will be out to prove a point that it was him and Spies that were the difference and a motivated Mladin is DMG's worst nightmare

At least that'll be entertaining.
