Interesting comparisons - Thanks

Interesting comparison.
Now the big difference is...
How long does it take for them to reach that top speed?

I think the Ducati is more nimble now than its ever been, very fast out of the corners too which was always a Yamaha trait.

I think Rossi more attributed that to Stoners style of taking corners, he said it after Catalunya when explainig why Stoner just passed him straight back. He even latched onto the fact that it actually gave Stoner a slingshot effect .. so he would have to work to try and counteract it .... but its not often he's been close enough to try since then ... except Assen.

None of the other Ducatis gave him the problem hence it was Stoner.

True, like stoner said himslef, he is squaring off the corners more than Capirossi. Capi have more speed through the turn and sharper lean angle at the exit. That's why he gets so untidy at the end of the exit. Stoner's bike are more straight up and he is on full power. He seems to have found the perfect way to get the ducati through the corners, using the same half way squaring off he did in 250.

So where do you guys seeing the improvements being made for '08? More acceleration, more nimble chasiss, etc.

Honda - Pnuematics or Desmodromonic valves.
Yamaha - Pneumatics or Traditional springs

Will the Honda be the bike for the 800cc class as it was for the 990's? Ducati?
Or is the V-4(Duke/Suzook/Honda) the best configuration for the class vs the I-4(Kawak/Yamaha)?

As it stands, Next year will be a big gamble for Rossi and Yamaha. (i see them falling flat) I see Honda really fighting back strong and Randy DePuniet leaving Motogp as he will again torpedo a few guys off the track... (just kidding about RandyD)

Honda will supposedly have an all new motor for the factory squad and it will be a V4 pnuematic valver. A prototype is racing next race so it will be extremely interesting to see what they have.

Suzuki is working on aerodynamics and has a new frame and hopefully more power. The new machine looked very impressive and has many months to develop yet.

I think the I4 motor is limited and next year maybe we'll see the end of them. Kawi may stick with it.

Last race showed that not only is Stoner a marvel at race management ( he rarely hit higher than mid 18's so had a lot more) and his team is far better than the Yamaha pit. Better in every regard from design to the end product. Better in prep and better in planning. Stellar for a small team to decimate the giant. This is the real story of the year.

Thanks Gsfan...
Things are starting to slow down here and I am starting to have withdrawl already...

I guess everyone is either gearing up for the World series or Football is starting to get really serious...

wait how dare I think that this is a U.S. only site....

Anyways.. I am not a huge F-bal or B-ball fan thus after the end of Motogp its... indoor tennis season.... or ...get in shape for summer time...

I think the desmo system will eventually die off but not for a few more years yet. V4's are the future.

Yamaha will run Pnuematic valve, they cannot do anymore than that.

Honda who gives a feck
