What the .... would you know LG? Your post sounds logical but didnt you realize that we have our very on GP talent scout on the forum that says you are wrong. Hes been watching on his tv for 37 years . That surely gives him the ability to scout the next alien.

...., if him and babelfish get together they would be quite the power duo. Babel could discern undiscernable mechanical issues from his couch amd text it to the team mechanic. I bet he could have figured out the Duc front end problems in between commercials and The Deal could spot the next up and coming alien while streaming from his laptop. Maybe if deal could get some footage of his boyfriend BJC riding a 500 he could determine if the next superstar is a current PS member. That would be awesome. The problem Is BJC seems to have owned everything in life but a camera.

One of the talking points seems to be that Cal has beaten Rossi. Rossi has had 4 races on that bike..this is not the same bike he stepped off 2 years ago. Because its Rossi most assume he should be an alien straight away but what they are forgetting is that for the 1st time in his career he is on a bike that isnt and wont be developed around him. If anyone else was riding the factory Yam after stepping off another manufacturer they would be given half a season before being criticized about being beaten by a guy who has had 2 years on a very similar bike..

For a guy who's never thrown a leg over a bike - you sure do take yourself seriously. Other than Mr. K, most of us here are like a bunch of guys sitting on a park bench talking about who's getting traded to which baseball team. However... it's fair to say that those of us who actually ride might actually have a modicum more insight than a non-rider. Moreover, there's a few here who actually have raced. And having traveled to and raced at most of the tracks between New Hampshire and Daytona and as far west as Elkhart Lake, I don't think it is farfetched to say that I just might have enough experience and perspective than a guy whose knowledge of racing consists of riding a Barcalounger with a fistful of Cheetos.

I am looking forward to there return, there is a few pics and abit of news on the net, apparently its an inline motor that sounds similar to the yam.

sounds like its a totally new machine built from the ground up,  krop will have more info on than me?

Cycle World is the best source for info. Kevin Cameron, the greatest living motorcycle writer, breaks down what we know about the bike so far.

Who said I never rode?

They need better than those two,,  Suzuki will be way ahead of the CRTs from the start and as they will be joining an existing and proven  team they will progress quickly.

I'm not sure on way ahead, Ducati is not way head of the top CRT team at the moment. Also, I can't envision Suzuki and their sponsor(s) being able to throw huge money around for top riders, that's why I mentioned Spies, De Puniet, etc. They aren't going to break the bank to hire and have experience to develop the bike/ride ably in races.

I like Kevin, but that article is a mass of speculation.

The absence of the starter door = new clutch technology? Umm. Find me a starter door on a 2011 GSV-R. The swingarm 'may' have been refined? A cursory glance shows that it looks completely different to the May 2012 design...and stop going on about curving around the rear wheel in plan view 'like a tuning fork', this isn't 1970, this isn't 'new'.

In his first 'spy' article, two megaphones were the rationale behind it not being a flat-plane crank. Now with one mega, it still has the "same sound as Yamaha M1".

Anyway, enough snide remarks.

I hope it does well, and makes BMW and KTM look like wusses for not joining the fray.

Pillion doesn't count.

I see you rode. Nice pic by the way, although Im a bit confused by the style. Did you always open your legs so much or were you happening to have a ..... fart when that pic was taken

You're confused? Thank you, Captain Obvious.

Waiting for your 25 year old track photos....or are you like those you accuse of not having cameras?

This is what im thinking suzuki will go after cal and i dont think depunet will be riding one after he has tested it reason being is i think suzuki will want to have young rider so they will sign a promising rookie. With that being said they will probably be slower then ducati but faster then the crt's. what i hope is that they will be able to keep up the funds to continue to develop the bike through the season to make it competitive.

I don't really want to hype up our Brit boys chances. It pays to keep a level head.

Crutchlow is god and Redding is currently in the Jesus, son of god role

levi you are about as bright as johnny,   dovi in his 11th year at gp level with a world title and many wins including one at mgp and three years on the best factory bikes,he beats a guy in his second year on a sat bike, there is no point even talking to brain dead people.we don't need a hero as we can just watch your'es failing at every race that's far more entertaining.

Ah, there's the English sporting spirit I've missed so much.

Kesh i don't dissagree with you on Cal,however this constant comparison against Dovi last year is a joke on an experience level, if we are going down that road Cal must be the best in the world as he is beating the 9 time world champ at the moment.

I won't argue that Dovi has a considerable edge in experience on a GP bike, but if we're going to tout Cal as someone deserving of a factory ride, it's awfully hard to then say, "well, this comparison isn't valid because Dovi has more experience." If he deserves a factory ride, then he has to beat people like Dovi regardless of how long he's been in the paddock.

So who isn't, Pedrosa or Lorenzo?

I now realize my initial post was missing young Marquez. Make that four aliens. Apologies.

Oh... and while it's true that Dovi has more experience, by turns, it's equally true that he's considerably older than Cal. Even Rossi is not immune to the ravages of time.

Cal is slightly older than Dovi, Kesh!!  Crutchlow was born on 29th Oct 1985 versus Dovi on 23rd March 1986.  Both whippersnappers in comparison to us, though ;)

I stand corrected. So my new tack is that Crutch is past it and come to the party too late. You know the Brits don't age well. ^_^

The Suzuki manager will be a certain Davide Brivio, the man who signed Rossi (and Lorenzo) for Yamaha.

I take it that you haven't forgotten that I am the exception to the last part of the above quote Kesh ?

Didn't he quit Yamaha around the same time that Valentino left? And now works for him??

Now I'm a little confused. I thought Suzuki were being forced to enter under an existing team's umbrella. But as far as I know, Brivio manages no one and isn't part of a team? So which team will Suzuki hook up with, and which existing manager is for the chop?

A previous Dorna statement was that Suzuki would have to occupy the slot of an existing CRT team (i.e. take it over) but now they seem to have back-pedalled and Suzuki will be welcomed. Brivio is the old team manager of Yamaha, responsible for the hiring of both Rossi and Lorenzo; when the Yamaha garage was effectively split in 2008, his responsibilities were reduced to only the Rossi half of the team, and he eventually left with him. He has worked as manager at VR46 since (Rossi's company), and now has left it to manage the new Suzuki team. He is currently renting facilities near Milan and equipping them for that purpose.
