Not just was Bayliss flat tracking but from reports he was breaking a leg as well (have not seen coinfirmation but was the story I heard)

As for Brendan, name rings a bell but must admit that I have not seen him around at any of the races I have been around.

Mind you, a bit like Paul Lewis ........... there one minute and gone the next

Gaz, see the accompanying link in the previous post.

We also still have Josh Brookes, Skippy McConnell & Jason O'Halloran currently in BSB. I think Steve Martin had a brief stint at commentary post retirement.

And what of Vermeulen?

I try to keep an eye on BSB and the Road Racing scene over there as best possible but have to admit to being slack about it.

As for Chris the V, last I heard he was still trying to get rides internationally as he still wants to ride in the big leagues, but I suspect that the knee has meant the end of his career unfortunately (he does do the TB Classics etc). A genuine good guy and perhaps a bit in the Hayden mould of being to nice for their own good in that sometimes they may be taken advantage of rather than be the ones taking the advantage

Edit. Thanks for the link mate, I had seen it on a mate's FB page over here when it was still rumoured as the mate put it (they are involved heavily in local racing)

If Rossi sat out anymore races the camera crew wouldn't even have shown up.

Why can't all australians be like Troy Bayliss, Ant West, Gaz, Gary McCoy, even Troy ...... Corser.

Met any of them?
Ant West....lol

Edit: typed before Gaz's response.
TB is a top bloke.
TC isn't.
Westy was a complete silver-spooner, but now he's a grafter.
McCoy...never spoken to him

You know you're old when you saw those guys in the Australian junior classes. Halloran was super-hair-gell man.
As for B Clarke. Dunno what happened to him. He had a weird rise straight into the Shell?? GP team. Then raced Aust Superbikes for a while? I'll ask a couple of friends of his fate.

Because of you there is a aussie somewhere in this world getting lotion on its skin or else it gets the hose again.

A lightweight response from a lightweight.
Where's the crazed response you offered?

I remember working at a Motard meet/ride day when Jase turned up on a borrowed 250cc motard but went out with the 450cc class. First session he was simply blown off the track but you could see he was watching and getting faster, second session and he was quickly catching the faster guys and by the third, only Angus Reekie was in front of him.

Showed me that not just could he ride (I had seen him road bike for a while) but that he could watch, learn and then put into action that which he had seen which impressed me for someone of his age but also his seeming nonchalance of 'not caring'.

Very impressed that day and whilst he may not be in GP or WSBK he still has a good positive career going

No. I typed it.
I feel so bad now, not to live up to your standards.

Suggesting, as I suspected, that you didn't actually 'laugh out loud' at all.

Actually, as you well know, it's standard parlance of pre-pubescent social media addled 13 year olds - (let's refer to them as the 'KiddyK' generation shall we?) and somewhat contrary to your usual - possibly affected - donnish tone.

That's interesting. What makes you say that?

Donnish, eh?
Twas mere bait; for individuals seeking linguistic superiority over the lexicalization inherent on the internet.

Agree - I've always like Josh, aside from the time that he chose to transform Shaw's hairpin into a ten pin bowling alley.

The fallout from that incident - which I think was back in 2009 - followed him around for years. I think it's only the last couple of years that they've dropped the "Bad Boy Brookes" tag

That's interesting. What makes you say that?

Anecdotes from good mate of mine.
She has a large assortment of tales of his less than likeable behaviour, attitudes, etc from when she was following/supporting her brother in similar circles.

JB is a nice bloke, in his early years (125s) he helped me bump start my bike. Yes, I needed help bumping a 125. Was having engine troubles and I was exhausted after a million pushes up and down the paddock.

You forgot that Caramel would have found a way to cancel the season as well

Now, no piss farts here but .........

TB, top bloke but ask around the paddocks and he has been known to fully vent at many racers about what he perceived as their 'stupidity' on track and may have upset a racer or three at the TB Classic with his on-track actions. Hard racer but a genuine top bloke ............. agreed

Westy, well let's be honest .......... he is just a stoner of a different variety but again, from all accounts a very likable dude (not the smartest, but he wants to race and I will never begrudge anyone who has done what he has to achieve his dreams)

McCoy - someone I reckon was under-rated and is to often overlooked by Australian fans. Another I am told is a top bloke but is very introverted, quiet and not liking of the publicity which is why he has virtually disappeared from site. Shame really as I am a major fan of mr squiggle.

Corser - I have ridden on the road with him (used to ride occasionally with his brother and also knew him threw a place I worked). Troy is one amazingly intense person, super focused and not suffering of fools well (like a lot of Aussies actually) but a fun guy to be around and always happy to chat but will avoid talk of bikes.

And now I know it may hurt a little here Mdub but I am told that Stoner is much the same in that he does not suffer fools well and is amazingly focused. On top of that, the people I know who have met Stoner all say that he is courteous to a fault away from the pits of a meeting but can be a right prick if approached at the wrong time with race face on (just as could Gardner, Doohan and believe it or not Bayliss)

No doubt though, there are good and bad stories about ALL racers around as our perceptions are based on that which we see on an edited screen, or a 'dorothy dixer' interview, or even based on .... that is biased due to the perceptions of others and yet we fall into the trap of believing it

Whilst I am no longer around bike racing as much, the stories I have heard about many of the riders is interesting to say the least (good,, bad, ugly and indifferent)

You are the man Gaz!

No but I watched them on T.V. once.

Haven't you learned by now, I don't give you want I want.
