I guess you could easily have ridden the Ducati to more than 23 wins, just like Valentino did, and must have passed Jorge Lorenzo at over 200 mph at the Corkscrew (something which deeply impressed even Kevin Schwantz) several times.
Correction, the pass that impressed Kevin Schwantz was the pass at turn 1 (kink at the end of the straight). A blind section crest that requires absolute confidence and faith to overtake, TV does not do it justice Despite the fame of the corkscrew turn one is by far the hairiest and gnarliest part of Laguna.

I knew where he made the pass was not at the actual Corkscrew, but thought it was fairly adjacent to it.

Regrettably I have never been to Laguna Seca, and now would seem to have lost the chance to ever watch GP bike racing there. If it ever returns I will go, even if I have to fly over just for the week-end. I will get to Indy next year if I possibly can next year anyway.

Michaelm he only had 23 wins? Damn I bet he had double the crashes. Didn't Marc 23 wins last year alone?

How many riders have won on a carbon fiber chassis in MotoGP?

How many guys have won on a Ducati in the last 8 years?

These are rhetorical questions, don't worry about answering. :giggle:

23 wins on the 800 Ducati, 22 more than anyone else, and infinite win ratio in comparison with Valentino on a Ducati of any variety.

All kidding aside dub, yeah he complained, big ....... deal, so what?

You think the rest of the guys aren't whining as much? Look at ....... Cuntslow. Whining about how every bike he rides is .....

Casey's only mistake was in not being all smiles to the media and spending the rest of the time whining like someone else to Carmelo behind closed doors about how he was going to quit MotoGP if he didn't get new tires or any of the dozens of other things he whined about.

Whether you like or hate him, Stoner was unquestionably a far greater talent than Rossi. His only problem was not knowing how to play the political game and not knowing that being yourself isn't always liked when the fans are used to some guinea pretending to be some fun-loving Eye-talian whose biggest complaint is the ......' gravy put on the pasta.

Ducati was a hot mess. He rode the .... out of it. The developers were on holiday cause he gave them little feed back and he won on that shitbox.

I agree with everything you said. Well almost everything. Only thing I disagree with is that I think he was rude to more than the media. He was rude to other riders, fans, marshals, and motogp as a whole.

Mike, Well its wasn't for lack of me begging you. Had tried to lay out the red carpet and all. WSBK is tomorrow. You can till make that.

Indy NEXT year, FFS. I'm going this year. And I'm 99% sure I will not be going next year. So u got 3 weeks to book your flight.

He was rude. And that hurts you?

If you guys are going to the Indy or COTA races next year, I will go. Can't go to Indy this year as I am going to the rugby world cup, and while what I do is not very arduous I can't organise two lots of leave to attend international sporting events in 3 months. I greatly regret not going to Laguna Seca that time you did lay out the red carpet, even going just for the weekend would have been well worth my while.

I may be able to swing going to COTA next year.

Regarding the corkscrew being adjacent to turn 1, PI is similar in layout to Laguna, Turn 10 would be comparable to the corkscrew. So think the corkscrew is as adjacent to turn 1 as Lukey Heights is to Doohan corner.

Mike, we must meet up. My half brother is a past master at getting tickets through the WRU, but this time it's proving impossible for the big games - so I can't attend any of those. No doubt your schedule is sorted, but if you are welcome to stay here for as long as you need AND you get the added bonus of the fact that we are hosting Argentina, Romania, Tonga, Canada and Namibia three miles up the road...and be assured that with the possible exception of Argentina v Tonga, there's no imminent danger of those selling out.

Also, you should consider catching a BSB round while you are over either Silverstone or Brands.

I've not paid much attention to Suzuka over the last few years but when did they start using 3 rider teams? They only ever did that for the 24 hour races in the past.

Yamaha's factory Suzuka 8 Hour entry featuring MotoGP stars Bradley Smith and Pol Espargaro was fastest during the final official test for this month's endurance race.

Teamed with 2012 MotoGP podium finisher Katsuyuki Nakasuga, the Tech 3 riders initially focused on learning the challenging Japanese circuit and unfamiliar Superbike machinery.

On the second day they also rode Nakasuga's machine, having agreed that finding a set-up that all three felt comfortable with was the priority.

Fortunately, there was not too much difference in their preferred settings and, according to Yamaha, the team managed to record the fastest lap times on both days - a 2m 07.995s on day one being followed by a 2m 08.167s on day two.

The Honda MuSASHi RT HARC-PRO entry of former double MotoGP champion Casey Stoner, World Superbike rookie star Michael Van der Mark and HRC test rider Takumi Takahashi was listed as fifth quickest, with a best time of 2m 8.495s. Takahashi had set a 2m 7.847s to put the team top of an earlier official test.

The 2015 Suzuka 8 Hour race will be held on July 26.

Lets not forget his ultimate etiquette transgression.... whooping Rossi's ... on the POS Ducati in front of all his fans. Miss Manners must have been spinning in her grave. I hear dark rumors that he wipes his mouth on his sleeve and even sometimes uses a desert spoon for eating soup. I'd reveal more - but all this talk of vulgarity makes me feel like I need to take a lie down on my fainting couch.
