Your Mom's House
Well, I just finished watching the first round of this year's Supercross series in Anaheim 1. Looks like the Aussie nation should be proud. Chad Reed winner. James Stewart a distant second due to that first turn melee.

It looks like its gonna be a two horse season again. If last year is any indication, this win by Reed will be one of a few. Some may remember, Reed won the first round in Canada last year too because Stewart crashed. Even though Stewart came runner up this race, I predict it will be his championship to lose. Even though it looks like Reed is much improved. He was very strong in his heat race. Looks like Stewart's Kawasaki teammate Tim Ferry will be the third place this year too. Grant Langston was disappointing. When he got passed, he looked like he was gonna fall over from the shock. He also had a very poor heat race. Maybe it was the track, it looked like ankle-deep (head first) wet .... out there.

Congrats to Chad Reed! Race one is over, and we have the rest of the season to decide who is this years best.

BTW, only 5 riders on the lead lap, WTF--are the top five that good or the rest of the field that bad? Also, the Lites class race was outstanding. 6 riders battled for half the race, sometimes three wide until it got sorted out. Very exciting main event. The track was the decider in this event no doubt.

Side note: Who do you think is the greatest of all time in Supercross? McGrath or Carmichael? For me, I think its McGrath, why, well he has 7 championhsips to Ricky's 5. McGrath has 72 Supercross wins to Carmichael's 48. So why is Ricky nicknamed the GOAT? I think Ricky is the GOAT in Motocross, but McGrath is the GOAT in Supercross. What do you think?

Good to see Reedy win the opening round. Stewart & Reed are in a class of there own.......
In the lites #122 Dan Reardon,4th (yes another aussie) will be one to watch.

RC is the GOAT

MC is the KING of supercross
72 wins 7 championships

MC is the best supercross rider ever !!!!!

Why does Ryan Villipoto or whatever he is called not ride SC ? Or does he ?

McGrath obviously. Go Chad, keep it going!! Although I don't get to see any races on the idiotbox over here I always keep an eye on the results.

Agree about the King, the MC.

Ryan is in the West Lites class (250F). Hes super fast, the guy almost won every race last year. He's a bit hurt right now, that's why he sat out the first round. He will join the races later in the season. If he does good again, I think he will move up to the Supercross class soon.

Without bad luck, Stewart will make this seasona laugher. He is so much faster than the other riders,Reed included,he becomes his own worst enemy sometimes. He did show some growing up last night though. After getting taken out in the first turn and falling basically to last,he quickly made his way back to second but was 16 seconds behind Reed.He quickly cut that to 12 seconds but realized that he wasnt going to catch him and settled for second, something he wouldnt have done last year.He would have kept pushing and binned it again and finish 5-6 instead of second. The announcer last nigh said,no one it the paddock is as fast as him,he just has to learn how to put it together. You dont have to beat the second place guy by 15 seconds when 2-3 seconds pays the same points. When he learns that watch out.

^ I agree on Bubba, I miss the AMA Supercross

Pity RC left to leave it with a 2 way battle, Jezzer gets my vote as the all time best.

Cheers for the race analysis Jumkie.

face it, if it were'nt for stewart falling at the 1st turn, he would have cruised past reed with ease. stewart is so much faster than the rest it's laughable! reed will take his usual 2nd place standing as the season goes on. you all know this! stewart is simply in a class all his own! villapoto is racing in the lites east class this season as well as townly, so we won't see them until the series comes east. the goat is rc. mcgrath has more supercross wins & championships but when it comes to the outdoors, he's not even close to rc. how many racers can say they've had a perfect season winning every race? not mcrath or anybody else for that matter! so combine thier sx/mx accomplishments for the scoring of the goat. stefan everats could be considered here but has never done a supercross. i don't think he's had a perfect season either.

I agree, if Stewart can stay healthy he will make this Supercross season a laugher, I'm pulling for Reed though, he a nice chap.
No doubt that Jeremy was the king of Supercross, but no one has ever dominated the Outdoor series like Ricky, hands down the best I've ever seen.

All time greats in Supercross...anyone ever remember J.M. Bayle...I didn't care for him when he was over here, but no one was smoother in Supercross at the time...his style reminded me of one of my all time favorite riders David Bailey. I think Bayle was the only Motocross champion to go road racing at the world level later on in his career albiet with little success.

Oh yes. I am so glad it's back on in UK because we didn't watch it for a year I have no idea why it wasn't but I heard it's back on Channel 5 at 5:10am on Thursday morning. Anyway it seems like that some of the guys I reckonse are still there with some people I also reckonise have gone to a higher class. For dam sure I am going to record it because I do miss watching that. Is Ricky Carmichael still racing in Supercross? I know Chad and Stewart are still. I really do enjoy watching it but no coverage last year kind of annoyed me but at least it's back and I was so happy when I read my MCN this morning that it had AMA Supercross on it. Yay.
