Five minutes ovation for Casey Stoner by over 1,000 Ducati employees at the Ducati General Meeting.

Stoner asked Ducati to try the current GP15 before testing next year's bike, called the GPX (Ducati will drop the current naming system).

From GPOne:
MotoGP, Ducati: tutti in piedi per Casey Stoner

I can't wait till he says it was a race winning bike.

So are they just going to use GPX every year, without any designation?

No different to the M1 or RCV
True but I did like that Ducati are different. Since 2012 they've become more and more Japanese.

Which fir whatever reason made me think of that song that says "I'm Turing Japanesie yes I'm turning Japanesie yes I think so..."

Isn't that song about jerkin your ....?

Agreed, I like it too but times they be a changin'.

It's nice to see he's respected by the Ducati people, after all he's got 74% of their race wins and their only ever world champion in GP, something I don't see changing anytime soon.

Couldn't find any interesting reads on GPX. What's better than GP15? Any early news?

Stoner is coming back with Ducat for testing....

who gives a .....

he should give motogp another try because he failed at everything else, if riding again don't work out he can always go back to fishing.

What else has he tried besides fishing, which I don't believe he has assayed professionally, and what else does he need to be good at apart from GP bike racing and beating Valentino Rossi to meet your exacting standards?

I was assuming Jazkat was referring to Casey's V8 racing. A Stoner foray unlike Rossi’s Formula 1 and Rally world championships.

Beat me to it. For people who 'don't give a ....' they sure seem to care a lot about riders who can (and have) beaten Rossi.

I am obviously aware of Stoner's desultory appearances in the feeder class of Australian V8 Supercar racing, one of the most low rent forms of motorsport in the world which I would have to be forced at gunpoint to watch in its current form. His participation in that series which I am glad he did not continue is of as much relevance as his fishing activities to gp bike racing and Stoner's bike racing career imo. Perhaps we could have a thread about Valentino being better than Stoner at soccer; he certainly wasn't better at another Italian pastime, the riding of Ducatis.

All such posts just further make the points we have been arguing, the crazy resentment among a significant proportion of Rossi fans of any rider who dates to beat Valentino.

Stoner has beaten Valentino and Valentino has also beaten Stoner. Really not sure what is your point. Fairly certain had Stoner stuck around he's have been diluted by Jorge, Valentino and the dangerous Marquez.

My contention was that you guys resent riders who dare to beat Valentino Rossi, and I can add MM, Lorenzo, Biaggi, Gibernau, Elias (for winning one race) and even Hayden (for a time) to the list. Your point is?

Nonsense. This is simply you taking tiny sample size on fans this site and apply it broadly. This is more people posting out of frustration of the moronic comments about VR. It is not reasonable to expect any rider win every race. Valentino has pretty much put all these riders in his pocket most of the time, including Casey.

I said in the previous post a significant proportion of Rossi fans (among whom I obviously include you given your posting history on here), not all, and have mentioned every serious opponent Rossi has ever faced as well as Tony Elias who won a single race. You will doubtless reply with further irrelevancies, but I don't see how you can dispute that there was large scale resentment of these riders, whatever Rossi's record against them, which wasn't part of my point although Tony Elias is a good example of even 1 win causing such resentment.

I didn't blame Rossi for the behaviour of the crazy element among his fans prior to the pre-Sepang press conferences, btw. (EDIT If your point is that Rossi's fans should have little cause for resentment given his stellar overall record then that is actually my point).

You can't be serious. Lorenzo has won three championships with Rossi as an active contender and Stoner beat Rossi like a red-headed step child and also won numerous championships with Rossi in the field. I can understand being passionate about a rider you like - but the numbers clearly indicate that your statement bares no resemblance to reality. It's one thing to have a theory or an opinion - but this isn't open to debate; the hard stats do not in any way agree with your statements.

Put it into perspective, Rossi was into his 30's when these guys came up while these guys were significant younger. I am not saying they are better or VR is better, just saying that at some races Rossi has come out on top many times even against the mighty Stoner in the field.
