Well he's setting a lot of confidence in Pedrosa then, I would hope also that given his performance at Qatar it might be beneficial to get Dovi on a new bike too.

have honda got something up their sleeve or is this guy delusional?

" in 2008 we will win with everybody together " ...
<
i say a bit of both. honda always has something going on up their sleeves but can be a little delusional as well. just think of some of their past delusional achievements. oval pistons anyone...

I think this is a very insightful article, when one considers the way Japanese put things -- indirectly. What Hamane is saying, IMHO, is very clear.. i.e. to paraphrase, "While we appreciate Nicky's loyalty, the riders (human) have to work with the machine and win races" In other words, clearly Pedrosa has tried harder to win, and has won on the equipment given to him by HRC. So, there is nothing really wrong with the equipment made by HRC and there should be "no excuses" by the riders. Just my 2 cents.

Aren't you the one that said the Japanese are the only people on Earth that don't lie? Part of the question posted on this thread was about being delusional, well I think we found who that is here.

"Hamane admits that the factory had their problems.”

Did you miss this part, or did you just ignore it like you usually do when it comes to reading articles?

I've read and re-read the article and cannot see how you come to this conclusion re Pedrochio and Hayden. Hamane's quotes within the article are more about how honda f'd up and that Nicky has been very professional and not bitched. To make the same type of extrapolation of the article that you have, Hamane could just have well have been saying that Pedro complains about the equipment but Nicky doesn't. Who has put in more laps trying to develop the latest Honda chassis/engine combo? As Jumkie has pointed out on another thread, Pedro got a nice new chassis to podium with whereas Hayden didn't.

I don't think he's delusional at all. Hamane is new for a reason.

Swarming is a proven technique, even Yamaha has adapted it.

Yamaha and Honda both thought they would be the best team in 2007. Both were wrong. Both realized how effective swarming was during the 2006 season and they both want to employ the technique against Stoner.

The 2008 bike doesn't have an engine that can't pass laboratory stress tests. Nicky didn't test the entire weekend at Qatar
<
The fairings on the 2008 bike are big enough for many riders. The offensive tail section has been eliminated
<

They are changing slowly. I expect Honda will improve throughout the season, unless Yamaha are world beaters this season.

Yamaka,

Honda has had problems wiith their equipment and they admitted early in the season. However, the key point is that byt he end of the season (and after many revisions) Pedrosa was able to win the last race of the season. Which means honda has a competitive bike then, hence "my nothing wrong with the bike statement"

Rest that follows is based on the assumption that Pedrosa had a new chassis for Qatar

As to the new chassis, the question remains unaswered whether Nicky "developed" it or Pedrosa. Pedrosa was out of action for most of the development. Looks like Nicky gave up ans went back to the old bike. Pedrosa gets back into practise and within a couple of weekes has a new chassis (presumably). Pesonally, I doubt if Nicky had much to do with the new chassis. His development relationship with honda is limited to the year he won the cahmpioship. And during that year, Honda have him what he wanted. But, it seems like it was very different from what all the other riders wanted. I dount if Honda wants to contue down that path and build bikes that suit only Nicky and no one else. Almost all the other riders come from 250cc backgrounds unlike Nicky. I suspect they have similar riding styles.

Jumkie,

Pelase don't put words in my mouth. I said the Japanese typically don't lie. (Did I ever say they are the ONLY people who don't lie). See response above to Yamaka about clarification on the "nothing worong with the equipment" statement. I don;t have time or the the inclination to spell everything out and write really long posts. I just hope people here will make a half a$$ed attempt to understand intead of twisting and misquoting. (I am not the first person to accuse you of this)

Oh, please. I have found that so far you being the king of "twisting and misquoting". Really, I can't think of anybody here than can take a rather simple quote and say almost the opposite. Not even the usual suspects. Even on this post you still qualify the report as "presuming" and then went on to "twist" the thing that Hamane said. So if anybody is "twisting and misquoting" its the guy you see in the mirror.

1. The report about the construction of a new chassis is there: You don't believe it, then make up your own version.
2. The report comes out that Hayden did not have "access" to it, and even is quoted saying he wasn't "offered" it: You don' believe it, then make up your own version.
3. Hamane says the "Honda had problem": You don't believe it, then make up your own version.

Why even bother reading the articles and report crv, your just gonna make up your own version anyway? I see its useless to even debate you, how can you debate somebody that doesn't even recognize the facts much less interpret their meaning?
