Yeah I hope he's fit and ready to race again soon, sounds like some nasty injuries he sustained there. Just shows you the risks when you get on one of those bikes I guess, you're much more exposed to injury than in a car.

Get well soon Ben

So they can't field anyone on his bike, means they can concentrate more on making sure Lorenzo wins then eh?

If there were more races left and he couldnt ride then the team would have to field another rider.....or let one of the Tech 3 boys ride in the factory colours for a weekend or two....and they could still do that, if they wanted to do it...

maybe crutchlow to get a shot at riding the factory bike (not that i would expect any big improvements, i don't think the factory bike is really that much better than the tech3) and hayes/hill/nakasuga to fill in for tech3?

at least for the valencia race , there would be enough time to get familiar with the track on a superbike until then

They can always try & get Rossi out of his contract a couple of races early.

It seems a little odd that a top team like that wouldn't have a back up plan/rider lined up for such an occasion, after all it's not like no one ever gets injured in this sport is it?

true but there are very few people capable of riding gp bikes in general, let alone free to just step in.

rather let no one ride for one race then let some inferior rider who will either crash or finish 15th mess with the precious engines.

after all theres only one johnny rea

I guess I'm just used to F1 where if a driver can't race through injury, or in Grosjean's case earlier this year, a ban, the they usually put another driver straight in the car.

I know, now you're going to tell me it's harder to ride one of these bikes than it is drive one of those cars aren't you?

It is.

that, and also f1 teams usually have some young talent as official test drivers that have at least some sort of experience so that they won't be thrown into cold water.

in motogp its guys like nakasuga which, no offense, are nowhere near the top 30 riders in the world

spies go home and recharge....the dude needs to just reset himself and worry about next year

Uncle Ezzy is no doubt twisting arms to get VR46 on Ben's bike (with the proper hardware! None of this "worse than T3 crap!"), THIS year....

He would have to twist very ...... hard I think

Speaking of which, anyone know if valentino will be released from Ducati this year? Just wondering if we will see him on the Yamaha at the Valencia test.

The guys on eurosport said at the weekend that ducati will release him for the valencia test.

I did read they hope Spies will be back in time for Valencia so he doesn't miss the test session straight after. Good luck on that for him, but I also hope he doesn't come back too soon before he's properly fit again.
