kevin schwantz thinks spies could be competing with the top 4 by mid season or earlier & should be able to bag a race win. what do you think?

good chance of a podium

win? no

probably rookie of the year and a likely fringe alien

should be a strong season from him- 5-6th overall this year, with more to come in future years

He'll do ok without a doubt i just hope the Tech3 don't suck like the norm

I think he's got podium potential, I'd be surprised if he's not on the box this season. But a win? I'm not doubting his skills, but he's got a lot to learn in a short amount of time. I hope he can do it.

Looking back on last year for Ben it seems that any likelihood of him not becoming a front runner is a losing bet. Even the fact that he is on a satellite bike...this guy is a phenom.

Dovinsioso got a win last year, Spies will definitely have a chance. It sad to say this, but I don't think its going to come down to Spies. He'll be fine. It's going to come down to the lump Yamaha provide...and of course what Rossi wants

Guys guys guys calm down .... its the first test of the year.

In a way the rookies get it easy during these tests, they just have to get out there and put the laps in on one bike.

The topriders are often only doing, say 10 laps per modification ( eg. Stoner in his laps tested 4 or more swingarms ) ....... and he still sets a time close to the top ( no wonder GP folk rave about him )

Because of so many peoples coments about Stoner, Rossi has a mission this year, ie. tobe called the fastest rider in GP ....... I expect will will see him doing things that help get that impression across.

But nonetheless, taking out the "busy riders", and the old guys on new rides, even though Spies has had a whole race and more practice than all the other rookies ...... he is doing every bit as good as JT did
when he came in.

I know curve thinks Spies has the "GOAT" title all sewed up but we have to remember that along with being a TExan ( hence known for a minor amount of gross over-exaggeration ) curve seems t add to that a propensity for premature ejaculation

I can like anyone I want to. In fact, if you go through the gsfan archives at SPEED's forum you can find me calling for Spies to be in MotoGP at least 4 years ago and everyone thought I was crazy. It sucks he's onboard a Yami (cough, spit....vomit) instead of a beautiful blue Suzuki.

Don't be hating we all like the same thing around here... Besides if we all agreed you'd dislike me for being as ... kisser!

i think he will be on the same (high) top 5-6 level that colin is really fast...maybe some 5 - 8 places, then he will be close to 3 - 6 (with guys like edwards, hayden) and better than a dovizioso.

i guess hell do more than one podium in 2010.

id love to see it and id bet money on that i will!

The dude can walk on water. He will have no problem getting some podiums, and fight for a when or two. I have been to a party Ben was at. Dude walked into the party with a jug of water and BAM red wine. We were drunk as .... eating bread by midnight.

I call ......... CS would never put 10 consecutive laps in a row without a pit stop for some candy. God this testing .... is just so easy for the rookies. WTF are you talking about? You say some really dumb .... sometimes, but this takes the cake.
