...Now, do you guys really think that if anybody at Bridgestone was surreptitiously giving 'special' tyres to any rider, they would forget to properly mark them like any other tyre, making them stand out instead? Naaah
<

I would rather think this was Rossi' team erasing the white line to confuse other teams about Rossi's tyre choice (..look, they just declared a soft rear tyre but mounted a hard one instead!).

everbody knows Rossi's been getting magic tires since the 125s

they had 2 type tires at the race... HARD and EXTRA HARD...

i can picture them scrapping up the burnout rubber and brushing it in the dirt

thing was before the control tyre rule a lot of riders did burn outs after the race. Maybe im wrong and i await someone to correct me but i cant remember anyone doing a burnout since.

Having an advantage is one thing, being able to capitalise with it is quite another. We used to see this with quali tyres. the top riders could reduce a lap time by over a second with a quali, but some riders it barely noticed.

True, but I wouldn't say 90%, more like 40% of the grid. At least the #1 of the top factories.

Other people tried them and couldn't use them. They were too hard. You want Rossi Michelins? Go ahead. Okay. Wrench, Wrench. Wrench. Vroom. OMGWTFBBQ ?!?!?!? LEVERS IN!!! Pit. You are completely missing the point! OF COURSE THE SPECIAL TIRES HE REQUESTED COULD NOT BE USED BY OTHERS--THAT IS THE WHOLE ....... POINT!

The idea being that Rossi's tires needs were so SPECIAL that they had to MAKE SOME FOR HIM!

And I suspect, the new Bstone spec tire are made with him in mind to, and .... everybody else, they have to adapt.

This is a rather easy point to make, and you just helped me make it: Vroom. OMGWTFBBQ ?!?!?!? LEVERS IN!!! Pit. Can I have tires made just for me please? Answer: NO, .... you, who do you think you are, Valentino Rossi?

Jumkie, I am shocked! Did you actually just claim Rossi is a special needs person. Oh the faithful will be eating your liver now man...

Nah, man. I'm just having a go at Parc. Like I said, I'm a bit bored. Errr.

This point CANNOT be OVERSTATED. TIRES are very important, so important that all I heard was the Rossi apologist crying all of 07 saying the tires were "inferior" bla bla bla. BY THEIR OWN ADMISSION; So this underscores the importance of TIRES. So here we have Rossi, getting tires made especially for him, for years, yes YEARS. And just one year they change the rules, he can’t get his special tires, and just like that, he can’t win the championship. MAKES YOU WONDER JUST HOW VALID THE OTHER YEARS OF TITLES WERE, eh? (As you guys are fond of saying, as if its part of his name: "8 time world champion"; well honestly, how many could be counted if he didn't have the special tires? You opened up a can of worms Parc.

It is a non issue because it was legal to do so then. And think about it. Every tire of that compound he ran in the race would have to be special that weekend or the setup would not work. Not just one tire. Do you think Rossi would put a tire on his bike at this point of the championship that he hadn't even tested at the track that weekend?

Agreed. This is quite a plausible theory as rossi's preference has usually been for the hardest tyres, and it seems that stoner ran out of rear tyre at the end of the sachsenring race; I believe he didn't choose the hardest rear tyre.

The difficulty with a conspiracy theory in this matter is that it is difficult to see how rossi's tyre choice can influence the others once they come out for the race, unless the tyre he used in the warm-up was also "doctored" and the others followed his apparent tyre choice. I believe bridgestone have stated that it was an error on their part in any case, and if other riders can't work out themselves which tyre is best for them surely that is their problem.

Well let’s see, ‘special’ tyres in no less than 6 different bikes, and no less than 5 different cylinder capacities… That makes Rossi even more special, to feed all that data, from all those types of bikes, the night before the race, risking it by not getting it right, and still get the ‘All time podiums’ record… ...., I had never thought of that one!

Not enough petrol to light up the rear tire after a race. They've gotta limp home nowadays.
