All, have come across some unfortunate news in another forum regarding ex WSB and ex 500CC rider Simon Crafar (quote from original post advising of issue).

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>Simon Crafar was hit by a Car on his Bike in Romania and has broken the T12 Vertebrae. They have operated
(9 hours) and put a plate across 5 Vertebrae to stabilse.

He has some movement in his legs which is a really good sign considering everything. His wife is in Romania this morning and at the moment its step by step and get him back to Barcelona asap.

The OP advises that he is a close personal friend of the family and that the news was not from the media but by direct contact.

Best wishes to Simon and his family

Man, he had his fair share of serious accidents whilst a professional rider - one bad head injury in particular. He certainly doesn't need this. Top bloke (for a kiwi). Hope he has a full recovery.

All the best Simon.

I always liked watching him do an interview after the race.
He came across as a bit goofy, but very likable.

Best wishes to Simon and his family.

Totally agree!

Here's hoping he has a quick recovery!
