seems the malaysian round is on the choping block to make room for a 2nd italian round at misano.

Sepang is great and all but I am all for a round at Misano. Do you all know how badly Rossi will trounce everyone?

Why get rid of one of the best Asian GP's in order to make way for yet another European one, an area with more MotoGP fans than any other, in a country which couldn't be any more MotoGP crazy than it is? Surely its better to try to attract more fans to the sport? Besides, Sepang is a great circuit.

It's down to money, if the Italians are willing to pay big bucks to Dorna, they'll have the GP. They are pissed off cause we got 3 and they only got 2.

well racer apparently sepang is not all that close to anything & not many people have been attending the races there

. i've noticed the stands seem pretty empty during the race. i wonder if the teams will still use the track as a test track if it gets dropped from the schedule?

oh yes! i think brands hatch would be a good track to have a gp! remember it from wsbk rounds
<

Still think Misano is the best candidate for a new round. The Italians need another round and Misano is a great track. In addition to being a great track with great fans full of great passion, it goes left.

iieeee it does at that! maybe there should be more than 17 rounds. 20 is a nice round #

If Sepang is dropped, Italy is the most logical candidate, considering the amount of riders it adds to the sport. Italy or Japan. Britain has what, three, four riders? One of whom is in MotoGP, and none of whom are doing particularly well.

Yeah! A second Japanese round would be great! Scratch Suzuka, bloody death trap, but theres more circuits here, like Autopolis.
Bikes are pretty big in Malaysia, and Sepang seems to be one of the pillar rounds of the GP, so I think it should stay.
If they`re gonna scrap one, Qatar because of the weather and attendance or the least popular of the 3 Spanish rounds. Yeah, there`s a shitload of bike fans in Spain but 3 races when all other countries have a maximum of one? I remember reading somewhere that either the biggest or fastest growing bike market in Europe is in Germany, That`d be a good place to add on another round. If only they could front up with someone a bit faster than Hofmann and that Nutcracker guy in SBK....

Misano will make for good racing, better than Sepang? Probably. It will help teams get sponsorship or get their current sponsors to dig a bit deeper so I can't see any bad in it. Sepang is right on the equator so it's hot and humid all the time, if I had to choose I'd rather go to Misano

I think in general the GP should expand to be more of a WORLD championship, not basically a European one like SBK is. But that`s just my opinion

Hey guys its me!

My opinion is that, first of all im surprised misano is on the cards, it just doesnt seem like the bikes would get on there mainly cos of the bumps, saying that the 500's used to race there.

If it was up to me to have another italian round it would be Monza- without a doubt.

Its a huge place, loads of history, just imagine the speeds they would get up to!!

I think the only reason we dont see it on the calendar is maybe because of the chicanes(or rather the run off areas AT them) i imagine Dorna would want more run off areas at the chicanes.

Ps. and if we had to choose another british round it would have to be Brands, amazing circuit but again they would have to do a lot of work on the run off areas, and also the circuit access- as ive heard getting in and out of brands hatch is a nightmare.

YES brother skid!!! east coast would be great. have to be barber then

Hey Ron! Glad to see you back in here, we've missed you.

No way they'd come to Barber. Superbikes only get past third gear once on the entire track, that means the GP boys will probably be running around in second or third. There were many complaints that Laguna was too small for MotoGP bikes and Barber is even smaller. If there ever was a second US round, which was a hot rumor right after the success of the Red Bull USGP, it would have to be at a big horsepower hungry track like Miller Motorsports Park or Road America.

Yeah bring racing to America, in Argentina are huge fans of Moto racing, im sure they have nice tracks....

rons got a good point in monza and with misano would the full range of gears b used? ooost? i could c sum damage being done at turn one, but saying all this wsb is gud there, im a long straight man so thats my only gripe..

I'm not sure what kind of gearboxes are used by the SBKs at Misano but I remember it being a very cool track when I watched those races more carefully.
