Good morning Krops. First of all, I enjoy the banter wrapped around a healthy disagreement of mere opinion, as I see it. You're a bit hard to gauge sometimes, (not to mention the peculiarities of forum speak); but I figured the light natured pics opened it up for colloquialism. Anyway, I was having a conversation with a Brit friend yesterday, and he assured me you subscribe to the same thickness of skin and that nations legendary type of humor. Enough on that.

Did you read the entire interview or did you (tl;dr ) skim it?
<
Because his (Pedros) answers actually overwhelmingly support my view regarding the league's suspect disproportionate treatment of riders! And he says as much! Quick, generate a tinfoil cat pic to send the lovable midget!
<
Dude, seriously, this entire interview is an indictment that in less words supports what I've proposed in this thread.

Did you realize Pedrosa accusing Loris of lying? According to this interview, Loris went to tell the “top” riders to raise their hands if conditions worsended, and Dani says in no uncertain terms, “Well, he has told you a lie.” (“Pues te ha dicho una mentira.” DP)

There is more. But I'll keep this short as it seems peeps have difficulty with long posts.
<
I'll try to translate some more, as this interview supports my contention that the league is inconsistent at best and well, you know what I think at worst.

Watch this space, more to come...

Jumkie,

As someone who was there, I recall being mildly surprised when the red flags went up. But that was based on my location and the little I could see on one of the big screens. It was effin' wet all race, so any extra rain around lap 12/13 wasn't particularly easy to ascertain (looking at the time sheets, it seems that over the last couple of laps time deteriorated, indicating more rain, but only by half a second). I saw JL's big wobble on the screen, but Dani and Casey seemed quite planted. As did many of the other riders (until they binned it)

But a day later, in dry socks, having some beers and watching the rerun on the bar's TV, it did seem a little peculiar. It wasn't so much that they stopped it, but when.

Mind you, 5 min after the stoppage, the circuit took an absolute lashing. So were RD - mindful of last year's catastrophe - staring at the radar seeing a monster of a rain blob and therefore being a little conservative? Was JL's front end fold a nice reason to stop it? Was it his hand gestures? Was it the bikes starting to hit the kitty litter?

All I can say is this fence is digging into my glutes.

I was at Sepang & was thinking that the red flag would have to come out for a few laps before it did.

If a rider had been more seriously injured than Spies the officials would have been crucified not reg flagging it.

Also Sepang is an awesome round to attend. Massive atmosphere.

Plus the Super Sic tribute was great. We dressed accordingly.

Should've said Hi..........felt like everyone else did.

We got stopped sooooo much it was hilarious. So many photos taken with strangers. Never expected the reaction that we got. It was great. A lot of fun. Great to see so many people smiling and remembering Super Sic.

Thanks Jumkie, I'll look for the social thread...haven't seen it.

I've been thinking about what MotoGP round I'd like to attend in 2013. Sepang was great...better than Phillip Island. So now trying to decide whether I do Sepang again or broaden my horizon and pick somewhere else.

Suggestions anyone. Happy to listen to other opinions and experience. Cheers.

AUSTIN 2013;)

I am criticizing them for being 1) inconsistent 2) red flagging a race before conditions call for it.

Were you there?

I know someone that was at trackside (with Moto2 team) that said the rain was so bad you couldn't see the other side of the track from the pits. The water was starting to build up, having overcome the circuit's drainage system and that is one clear sign for race direction that things are going from bad to worse.

TV cameras make things look a lot better than they are - it is a lot darker and a lot more rain falling in reality than the cameras show.

Kuala Lumpur in monsoon season is a ....... stupid time to run a GP.
