What do you guys think of Sandro Cortese? His performance was very good on Saturday in Qatar but then was the little incident with Kallio

his performance was great all weekend, right until his incident with Torres at the end of QP (Kallio 'only' hit Cortese's bike when it veered back onto the track). and in the race, still, with a broken bone in his foot and clearly in pain, he finished a respectable 8th - his best Moto2 finish so far, I believe. In general, however, while Sandro is fast, no doubt, he needs a lot of guidance. He did show what he can do this way when he became Moto3 champion for Ajo KTM Factory squad, an experienced and strong team. So when he joined the Dynavolt team for Moto2, he found himself new in an ultra-competitive class riding for a new, unexperienced and thus rather 'weak' team, which is why he struggled a lot in 2013. but both he and the team learned a lot from last year and seem much, much better prepared for this season. honestly, I didn't expect this from Sandro, but I hope he can continue this process throughout the season.

yes sorry I thought that kallio was the main problem on the crash ;)

My Father had nearly the same crash in summer 2013 :D

I always had him down as a slow learner started in 05 (cant believe that) didn't podium till 09 and then another 2 years to win a race, once he had won tho he seemed to find more form and 2012 was a very good season always felt like he was winning most races that year but only 5.

Last year in Moto2 I thought my suspicions were confirmed with him fighting for a couple of points here and there, and didnt expect much more than that this year, but his weekend was very solid, still sticking to my original thought tho that he prob won't be a title contender for at least another season or 2 and by then be 27ish, not ideal time to be starting you're top class career these days. If it ever happens, he might do a Di Meglio.
