Anybody should have the right to refuse to race if they don't want to.
Also yes it has happened before the 1989 Nations Grand Prix at Misano was boycotted by several top riders for safety reasons.

Six riders decided not to race. What do you think of that. I think they should have been disqualified for that. I'm not good at history, has anything like this happened before? How they even were allowed to do this?
Its their call, they are the ones taking the risks and they are the ones who would miss out on potential championship points if they do decide not to race.
No need to disqualify anyone... they have disqualified themselves effectively by sacrificing the opportunity for the extra points, not that disqualification for a safety concern is warranted anyway.

From the info I am hearing , I agree with them. If the same thing happened in GP, the riders safety commission would have the weight to make something happen. Any ..... knows new pavement has to have time to cure and it will bleed when it gets hot. This is another case of money overriding safety after some ....... dropped the ball

I think they have the right to decide to participate or not, depending on the circumstances, they are the ones who decide
