Barry's Ducati 748

Lotus, I know you weren't around back then, but our friend Barry Machine, who I genuinely miss, posted a pic of a guy on a motorcycle. Arrabi said "borrowed" motorcycle, a rather kind way of putting it, as the picture was "borrowed" from Google images and passed it off as himself.

That's hilarious!

I ran into a guy like that maybe 14-15 years back on a car forum who did .... like that by trying to claim he had high priced cars. It was easier back then to try that ..... Then someone found the pictures on an obscure forum. He stopped posting immediately.

Christ, I'd forgotten that. Didn't he plunder photobucket?

haha but we know for a fact he enjoys feeding birds. I can still here his frail aussie voice from the video. Barry if you read this can please post a link to your new youtube page, I can't find it buddy.

Good call JPS...only I got it wrong - it seems it was a 749.

Nonetheless, borrow it off your brother in law and stick it on the 'who here actually owns a motorcycle' thread  ...

Classic Barry.

Good Lord, that was some digging. Thread was a nice walk through memory lane. What thread was it that he posed that google pic? That would be a nice find. I think it was Chopperman who outed him.

That's all nice Kesh.

But here's another question for you.

Would you like to explain to me why you haven't admitted you basically accused me of saying the RCV was ...., when I said no such thing?

You made a dismissive post that didn't even address the fact that you flat-out lied, and created a straw man so as to try and paint me as saying something I never did.

This has gone on so long that the past is starting to blur. To the best of my recollection - what I said was that you and Jum continually hold MM responsible for the speculations by the press regarding the quality of the bike. I do feel that you're both going out of your to dismiss issues with the chassis and powerband implying that they in no way impacted MM's ability to ride the bike. You both seem to be saying the bike is perfect and all his failings this season are of his own making. I have never denied that he's made some stupid moves. That said - that fact that his results have improved since Honda made concessions regarding the chassis and tamed the powerband by tweaking the electronics. As has been already pointed out - all the Yamaha riders are doing better than the Honda riders across the board this season which is reasonably compelling evidence that this year's iteration of the Honda has more issues than you and Jum would like to acknowledge. An inconvenient truth - if you will. If MM had the bike he has now at the beginning of the season, I don't doubt he'd be in 2nd or 3rd place in the standings right now. As it is - I'm glad this season has played out as it has - because the last two were depressingly empty affairs as it got tiresome watching MM run away with everything.

pet·ti·fog·ging
ˈpedēˌfôɡiNG/
adjective
adjective: pettifogging
placing undue emphasis on petty details.

For an example see: Keshav

Take a look at Kesh's last post, as its typical of him. 3 sentences indirectly referencing (much of it backpedaling and dismissive) regarding the specific debate, the overwhelming rest of the post pettifogging petty details of our style.

Kindly show a link where I "backpedaled".

As to being dismissive. .... me... what's the crime it that? You do it all the time.

When I use the word "Pettifogging" I use it in the classical sense of loading a reply with and avalanche of irrelevant details in order to deflect.

Yes.

But I want an admittance from him that he f̶a̶l̶s̶e̶l̶y̶ ̶a̶c̶c̶u̶s̶e̶d̶ LIED a few pages back.

Kesh here is the quote again in case you're going to pretend you have amnesia.

Meaning, it's you and Jum by way of mocking MM for complaining about issues with the bike - which is a back-handed way of saying the bike is in no way impacting MM's riding. The guy only ever said he preferred last year's chassis and power-band and then you gathered up all the baggage off journo speculation and dumped it on MM as if he'd encouraged them all to make these speculations (some of which were legitimate).

Stop deflecting, just admit you were wrong, and that you committed character assassination instead of talking around it.

Again, I have said the bike while not perfect is certainly far better than anyone wants to admit.

My thesis is that Yamaha made a huge stride while Honda did not, and both are relatively equal.

People engaged in faulty logic where they said if MM crashes, must be the bike's fault. No such thing is true.

So again, just admit you are wrong Kesh.

I should admit that I'm "wrong" because I don't just roll over like a dog and agree to accept your opinions as gospel? If I said I perceived this as being a bit arrogant, would you consider that "Character Assassination"? Or is is it just a mildly stated judgement? I think by now you know I actually enjoy our dialogs as long as you don't get overheated or over-personal. I bear you no enmity. But I do feel free to evaluate the facts as they're presented and come to my own conclusions - rather than on what you insist I must believe. You offer nothing to substantiate your theories and opinions that sways me.

If you believe that I give a .... whether you value my opinion - you're delusional. You still cling to the belief that the lives of the members of PS revolve around whether the great charismatic Jumkie showers them with compliments and slaps on the back. Like I said - stop drinking your own Kool Aid.
In my best Richard Sherman to Tom Brady impersonation (pre Superbowl win):

You mad bro?

HAHAHA dude, go get a massage with a happy ending tomorrow. I dont have time to go down tangents with you atm, but in the spirit of Friday, have a nice weekend sir.

Kesh, this is not a matter of opinion.

You lied and tried to say I made a claim that I never did.

What did I lie about? Please provide a link to any statement you seriously believe I intentionally misrepresented something you said. If I did I'll apologize. If I misunderstood something you said - I'll freely admit it. Unlike some people here - I have admitted when wrong on a number of occasions.

Have you even read anything that I've said? Lol
No. Give it up lotus. I know all he has to do is look up and see what you have quoted but apparently that was too much for Kesh. I love how he will repeatedly say I will admit when I'm wrong but never admits when he is wrong.
