Ive been a Ben fan the moment he beat Mladin. Following his career and actually talking to him a couple times at motocross events, i came to the notion that; he likes to be the underdog and loves it when someone tries to get into his head to make him lose. Thats his style. That drives him to do what he does best, win, because winning is his way to throw it back in their face and much more enjoyable being the underdog. Not saying that Spies will beat Rossi, but Rossi is only adding fuel to the fire and for damn sure, Spies is wanting that victory more than ever and probably wants more mind games for motivation.

He did it to Nicky in 2006, or maybe it was 2005. Except with Nicky, he whispered in Capirossi's ear. Is Valentino getting lazy with his games?

I saw some words like "Rossi is the new Biaggi", "Spies will beat Rossi", "Rossi is like Mladin" ... bla bla bla

.

Compare Mladin to Rossi?????? Do you think that your AMA can be compared to our MotoGP?

Nothing gonna prove your ..... next year

No one is comparing their talents. It's the personalities. Do try to keep up.

He's in the same position that Biaggi was, when Rossi and Biaggi had their stairwell cat fight.

No, not yet.  Rossi is still winning plenty of races.

When he starts getting thumped on a regular basis, when he can see the writing on the wall, THEN we'll see how how gracefully (or not!) he copes with the situation.

When Lorenzo or The Pie Man (A horror movie character!) eventually comes for Rossi, will he go down fighting, or whimper and scream like the doomed cheerleader?

(From my POV, big, bad Lorenzo has already caused significant whimpering.)

Interesting observation.  I Assuming you're right, I wonder how long it will take for Rossi to figure out that all his clever little games are only hurting his chances?

His motivation when he is down is without question. Although we have had the please of stalking him through AMA the world saw his determination last year in WSBK. SO many time we were ready to write him off and give the championship to Haga yet he overcame all the odds and won.

I'm still waiting to see what he will do when the crazy Rossi fans go nuts on him. That will be something new for him.

Exactly.

Rossi is so used to winning he can't accept defeat.

We saw some pretty nasty reactions from him when hes not winning.

(See estoril last year, threatening to leave Yamaha if they resigned lorenzo, etc...)

Rossi is not exactly gracious in defeat.

Yes, he proved it in AMA when he was second to Mladin on the Suzuki team. He proved it when he was the underdog in WSBK.

I cant see the fans doing much to him other than adding fuel to the fire. He'll want to prove each and everyone wrong and want it more. Spies is a different kind of beast and it'll show this season.

Mladin is just a miserable prick who doesnt seem to like anyone, unless its someone away from racing.I do appreciate Matts honesty though. You dont have to read between the lines to know where he is coming from.
True. But its not all "honesty", sometimes its self promotion. But yes, I agree, he gives non-sugar coated answers when need be.

You mean like putting on a t-shirt during his moment in the sun, but giving tribute by listing his heroes and having the name of Rossi among a list of giants in the sport? Yeah, I could see how that would be upsetting.

You're asking for the impossible.

Dude is .........

Well the smackdown is going to have to wait. Spies really ...... his qualifying up.

Well where I come from a guy disrespecting you enough to chat loud while you are on camera gets a smack on camera. The trouble is if you let it go it's gone and you are chasing from there on in. If I was Spies I would have stopped, gone over to Rossi, and told him to STFU right on cam. Stop it right there and do it from a dominant top position. See since he didn't do that he is now chasing and that is a no win situation with a guy that will back stab you. Sorry, stop that .... right away and go to whatever level is required to establish the correct understanding or it will never end. Call it prick control if you want. Nothing new really. Anyone that denies this is not living in the real world.

Spies would have come off looking incredibly pathetic if he'd stopped the press conference as a rookie to tell Rossi to pipe down. Not to mention letting Rossi know he was under his skin. Thank god he didn't do that. I think Ben is better than that, and i doubt he's bothered at all.
